We wanted to do some fishing in the Keys and after a couple of conversions with Mike we decided to fish in and around Big Pine Key for local fish like snapper and mackerel. We arrived early and Mike was ready to go with all the tackle, rods, chum and ice coolers (we brought our owns beer). After deftly avoiding a thunder storm we settled down to a very productive half day of fishing. Overall we caught over ten species of fish. We indicated to Mike that we hoped to keep our catch for preparation at a local restaurant. He adjusted our fishing equipment to focus on the snapper and within a short time we had our limit. Mike then took us to two other spots that he had programmed into his fish finder that were equally productive and we fished and caught everything from sharks to puffers while peacefully observing the local birdlife and the beautiful and ever changing skies while Mike cleaned our catch.
We returned to shore just ahead of a very big weather system with 7pounds of filleted fish. The next day Mike and his crewman joined us at the Half Shell in Key West (what a perfect place to have our catch prepared) to enjoy the rewards of our fishing effort with the rest of our families.
The ability to be involved in the planning of our trip, Mike's easy going behavior, work ethic and knowledge of fishing and the beauty and diversity of the of the lower keys made booking a trip with Lower Keys Adventure the most memorable part of our vacation to the Keys.
