We got to the Keys earlier than we thought so stayed here one night only. It is a typical big old motel and doesn't look great from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by the room, which was large, had a fridge, good shower etc. only problem was the carpet was filthy and there was a sort of stale cigarette smell lingering, even though rooms were no smoking. Wi fi signal not detectable. Bed was very comfortable and large, hardly any breakfast to speak of, but to be frank, it was nice and cheap compared to other places on the Keys.
So I would say, perfectly adequate for one night, but you probably want to move on after that.

Very clean place.. The worse I honestly saw was an ant in the bathroom.. Staff is really friendly.. Not too far from Key West.. Perfect place to stay if you are not willing to pay those high key west priced hotels.. Totally recommend this place! Very satisfied

This motel is about 30 miles from Key West and quite near Bahia Honda State Park, a beautiful spot. Given the high cost of Key West lodgings, it is an economical, clean, quiet, and comfortable place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We loved being a little bit far away from Key West and enjoyed a lot Big Pine Key. We saw deers at night. The motel is really basic but very clean. It was great to have a fridge. The wifi did not work properly. Recommended for one or two nights max.

Stayed there for a single day jaunt through the keys, and it did the job. Good shower, comfy bed, etc. Disturbing item: There were insects of some sort in the bathroom area in the morning. Fortunately, they were dumb, slow and harmless. Split at sunrise, so I didn't sample the nearby restaurant.

Having tried and failed to find a room in Key West on a Saturday afternoon we found the Big Pine the nearest hotel with a vacancy.Despite being quoted prices as high as 350 dollars in Key West the prices were very reasnoble.Rooms clean, bed comfy, decent Restaraunt nearby, overall a very enjoyable nights stay, don't expect The Ritz, but if you need somewhere to rest your head you could do a lot worse.

We arrived at the Big Pine Motel because of a recommendation from our fishing guide. He said it was the closest to the dock we were leaving from the following morning. At first glance, the hotel looked fine. I woke up at 2:00AM because something crawled on me. I pulled back the covers and found a bedbug. Our fishing trip was from 4 am to 8 am. We intended to return to the hotel after that for a nap before making the 6 hour drive home. We could not. Disgusting bed bugs.
