“Most wonderful black grouper EVER”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

From the time you arrive until the time you leave you are treated like royalty. Has become one of our favorite places for fine dining and that maintains a dress code and decorum. Great wine list. The black grouper was wonderful and served with pureed potatoes and white and green asparagus. Shrimp cocktail is delicious and all dishes are elegantly served. The menu changes often as does the dessert menu. I don't usually get dessert put here it is always just wonderful. The place is beautifully decorated at Christmas with old time Florida charm. For fine gourmet dining it is a must.

“Down A Notch…Maybe Two”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Our traditional Christmas Eve dinner at The Inn was just not as good as in the past. The atmosphere was still wonderful, warm, traditional, nicely decorated. And the other dinner guests were nicely turned out in Christmas Eve fancy-wear. The menu is still excellent. But a we all noted a drop-off in a few key areas during our meal. (1) The service was slow and inattentive. It took more than ten minutes for anyone to show up at our table when we first sat down. When I ordered a second bottle of wine we waited nearly fifteen minutes for it to arrive. Our server disappeared once the food was served without checking on us. Basic stuff that should not occur at a super high-end restaurant on a special occasion night with prices over $100 @ person. (2) The food didn't meet prior year quality. I had the pepper corn crusted strip steak - cooked medium. It arrived cool to the touch and waaaay under-done. It just wasn't better than average. The meal included some stringy green veggies and a blob of starch which was tasteless and uninteresting. (3) It was uncomfortably hot in the dining room causing us all to perspire unnecessarily.

We were disappointed and agreed NOT to continue our annual Christmas Eve traditional dinner at The Inn. There is a new manager at the hotel and maybe the changes we experienced are related to that? We were saddened to have a below-expectations experience.

“Old world charm”
Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

This may be my favorite restaurant in the entire world. The service is genteel. The food is yummy. The atmosphere is what makes it so special.

Like the INN itself the creativity from the kitchen is to die for. Coat and tie for dinner makes it even more fun. You owe the food respect of dressing up for this meal!

“Fantastic Experience every time we go”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

If you consider yourself a foodie and or love a great dining experience with old Florida charm and ambiance than this is the place for you. During the season you must dress for dinner and men must have a sport coat, and I love that you can go someplace and feel and dress special. We always arrive early and have drinks at the bar which is charming and beautifully appointed with fantastic servers. Don't expect to get the same thing each time because they change some menu items but they have all been wonderful. My sister got the swordfish, I got the freshly caught grouper and hubby got a filet. Dinner comes with 2 sides and the potatoes and the asparagus were to die for. We each tried the potato leek soup, and the Caesar salad, the presentation is like you see on a cooking show. Service from the time you walk in until you leave is wonderful. Gratuity is always figured in and that is great and we always leave extra because the service is great. Dessert is a real treat and also changes. Wine list is beautiful and rich. Hands down our favorite place to go when we are at our Florida home.
