“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We tried this place for the first time. It is conveniently located in a shopping mall off Glades near Lyons. The place only had a few customers so we almost had it to ourselves. The ambiance was pleasant, with genuine Turkish decor, private booths and large tables, nicely decorated. The staff was attentive and Turkish. We orders the octopus, mixed cold platter, and lamb kabobs. They were marvelous. The wine list is a little sparse, and they were out of some of our favorites, but we tried a Turkish white, which wasn't bad. For our main courses, we had the delicious lamb kabobs, the snapper, and the spinach pie. All entrees come with soup or salad and rice or fries or bolugor, which is like a couscous. Everything was outstanding and delicious. The lamb was especially succulent. Even the bread was over the top. We were very satisfied. Prices ranged from $10-12 for he appetizers and $18-25 for the entrees. They give a 10% discount for cash and don't take American Express. A delightful evening, well worth the drive, and we will definitely return soon.

“So so”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We went to give this place a try. The place was empty , just our table. I got the feeling I went to the owners home not to a restaurant. They had a little girl who was crying constantly . We tried the lamb kebab, and the eggplant. The meat was tough and chewy, the eggplant was good. The bulgur was good too, but I wouldn't go back.

“Good Turkish food”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We went on a Saturday evening; the place was half-full. The waiters were very polite and clarified some of the items on the menu. The complimentary pita bread was never served to us, though the waiter said "your pita bread is coming right up" after he had brought the drinks. Some of the items that we tried like the St. Peters fish and the Falafel platter were very tasty and of the right portion. The beef shish kabob and the lentil soup were nothing special. The Bulgur served with the main course was wonderful. The cheese pastry desert Kunefe is something everyone has to try - it is really unique and amazing. This restaurant, though small and hidden, is definitely worth visiting. The prices are definitely on the higher side.

“Tucked away Turkish cuisine”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Hidden in the middle of a strip shopping center in western Boca Raton is an exquisite Turkish restaurant with a small sign and a name the manager explains is a nickname for ancient city in Turkey. The food is great, the service kind. On a nice day you can eat outside. I usually get a lamb dish, my wife goes for the branzini, a whole grilled Mediterranian fish hard to find in South Florida. Ask for the special dipping sauce to accompany the homemade bread. While you're at the shopping center, stop at the International Market which is near the restaurant, where they specialize in Russian produce.

“Turkish Excellence”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Excellent Turkish food! Each time I am in Florida, I go to Efes and try the next dish on the menu. I have never been disappointed.
Save room for the desserts.
