“Distinctly average”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

We dined here last week with friends and it was distinctly average. Service was enthusiastic but not necessarily efficient. The special fish entree, sea bass, was finished so they gave us grouper which I think had been frozen, it wasn't great. With so much great local fish why import from chile and panama?

“Changed, and not for the better”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

We have dined here several times, including lunch and dinner, and the restaurant remains consistently inconsistent. With friends we all ordered the prix fixe 39.95 dinner. Here's the report, A-Z. Waitress had to be asked to bring bread (brought a small basket, finally), had to be reminded to bring lemon, had to be reminded to bring pepper mill...and this came directly afer she brought salads and simply walked away, leading to 2-3 minutes of trying to get her attention. So you get the picture about the "service". On to the food:Three of us had filet mignon (about a 6 0z. cut). Meat was just OK, rather dry, one diner's was overcooked. Vegetables accompanying were way undercooked, almost raw, and barely warm. And for those who don't enjoy noisy dining rooms (which we observed on our very first visit, and commented on), the noise was so bad I and my wife had hard times conversing with our friends. Bare floor, big open room, bad combination. The restaurant has apparently undergone a significant change in management, from the chef to the hostess, and not for the better. Sadly we will bid Josef's adieu.

“Great food and attentive service”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

my title says it all but their $39.95 3 course price fixe was a great bargain and perhaps a little too much food. If you're just a couple and not very big eaters, you may want to get a prix fixe for 1 and a regular dinner for the other and split the abundant appetized and desert........but no matter what, you can't go wrong.

“Nice Dining for special dinners”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

Josef's table has an unassuming storefront amidst retail outlets, but once inside you have left the parking lot views for a sophisticated and cozy dining experience.
The ambience set the mood for a feast of delectable food. With so many interesting menu items, the prefix menu was a stressfree way to sample the variety at a reasonable price. The blt appetizer was noteworthy, the cheese plate with tomato jam served a table of 5, the prawns were enormous and this was just the starters.
The dinner portions are big and most plates were cleaned to the bone, literally, the osso bucco and rack of lamb were polished clean, as was the lobster stuffed lobster completed.

The only minor complaint was the waitress was reluctantly accommodating Any health needs requiring slight variations on dishes brought out a snooty attitude.

I would recommend this restaurant for a nice dining experience if in Delray.
