Tried for lunch and quite enjoyed the experience.
Had made an advance reservation and were seated at once, but this was not surprising as the place was only half-full. There was a fair amount of noisy chatter and one can imagine it get very noisy when it is fuller.
The menu offered a nice selection of interesting choices. We tried a French Onion soup that was somewhat bland and had too much of a tomato taste, which seems to be unusual anyway. As an appetiser, we also tried the szechuan short rib lettuce cups that were excellent, though an additional lettuce cup would have been helpful.
These were followed by a dish described as crispy chicken with fingerling potatoes and a jus based sauce. Unfortunately, what was delivered first time around was not crispy, not least as it seemed to have been drenched in the sherry vinaigrette which was itself far too oily. The re-presented replacement dish was much better. Meanwhile, the Asian chicken salad was very good, was was the sauce that we had on the side as a precaution.
Service generally was good but table clearance was poor, and the left-over French Onion soup bowl sat at the table until we paid the check.
Overall, perhaps a slightly generous Very Good.
