“Cannot wait to come back”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

My wife and I were astonished at the beautiful property. Upon arrival we used valet which was very efficient for us. The bellman brought our luggage to the room in a timely manner as well. We checked into a room on the the 11th floor with a balcony and a nice view of Estero Bay. The room was great and upscale as is the entire property. Check In took less than 5 minutes and the gentleman whom checked us in was cordial and informative. After being on the road for several hours to get to the property we decided to order room service for dinner. The food arrived in about half the time which was promised and was freshly prepared. The room service crew did an outstanding job our entire weekend stay. Breakfast was really good as well in the room each morning. We also ate lunch at the outdoor pool bar and my wife enjoyed the friend grouper sandwich and my burger was tasty as well. The Christmas tree set up in the hotel is nicely done and my toddler was mesmerized by its glow. I can't wait to go back when my son is older to enjoy all the activities like the pool and slide, rock climbing, boating etc.. You surely will be impressed by this property and its fine staff.

Being a local, I'm always looking for a place to relax, enjoy the view, and have great food. The grounds in this hotel are fantastic. The restaurants and bars are also situated so that you can enjoy the magnificent Florida weather. They have a short shuttle boat ride to the beach, and the spa is absolutely great.

This was our second stay at this property. We had two adjoining rooms for ourselves and two young children on the 18th floor. We utilized the family rate plan and got the second room for half price. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel has a lot of great amenities. The best thing about it is the service, which is akin to a Ritz.

Pros:

--service with a smile
--beautiful grounds with marble everywhere, fountains, landscaping
--complimentary amenities (covered by $20/day resort fee)--boat to private island, DVD rentals, reciprocity with Coconut plantation (blackout period over holidays), kids' activities by pool in afternoon, 24-hour great gym, free parking
--really good food for breakfast and lunch at Tanglewood. Tip--lunch options are better and cheaper here than Corkscrew, the pool bar. For the breakfast buffet, kids pay their age--our kids are 2 and 5 and big eaters, so it is well worth it.
--comfortable soft beds
--mini fridge in room
--located near Angelina's restaurant and Ruth's Chris
--fun waterslide

Cons:

--not directly on beach
--shower in room is very standard and does not fit with the rest of the luxury accommodation
--rooms are a bit small, but since we had two it was not a problem for us
--main pool gets pretty crowded (we were there over Thanksgiving) and noisy and chaotic...but it is family oriented. There are two other pools that those without kids would enjoy.

We did not use Camp Coconut because only one of our kids was old enough but we would next year--the staff seemed very enthusiastic. We did use the Tender Loving Care babysitting service that the hotel recommends at night--the sitter was an older woman and very good, but it's pricey--$90 for the 4 hour minimum. Our kids were asleep for the whole time! :-)

We visited in May once and it was much quieter there by the pool and that was nicer.

We are so pleased that we were able to make your stay so memorable and more so, we are happy to see that the first "pro" on your list was about the excellent service with a smile! The Hyatt at Bonita Springs is a beautiful facility. Most staff were very friendly throughout the hotel. Training needs to be done with the Staff at the pool bar. A fifteen minute wait for a glass of wine seated at a pool bar table is not acceptable. Forty minutes and still no food is definitely not acceptable. Having to walk to the bar to pay for the wine and leave and still wait is just mind boggling.

The check in staff were just wonderful. Personable without being smarmy is a gift. The Bell men and valets were always so helpful. The gentlemen who ran the pontoon boat over to the shelling beach were as nice as could be. Room service was very good the one time we used them.

There is, however, a problem with the food. We were there on business with evening cocktail hours and hor d'oeuvres. There was also a buffet several times. For the buffet the food was cold and not intentionally so at food stations. Paella, steak and sides were not even warm. The pork loin stations were the only ones able to serve warm food. However, the setting was stunning and well laid out. Staff were doing their jobs well. The dinners served in the ballrooms were excellent, the servers were like a well oiled machine. The breakfast buffets in the on site restaurant were very nice. My husband and I went to dinner at Tarpon Restaurant on site. Lovely facility, nice staff, tough rubbery shrimp with weird sauces. I guess my tastes are too pedestrian to enjoy grassy sauces and other flavors unknown. Just give me some good old shrimp cocktail sauce to enjoy on my grilled shrimp.

They do have some issues with noise being heard from other rooms. Luckily, we had quiet neighbors.

All and all, I would go back but not eat at their facility for everything.

Room Tip: check where the sun sets on building to prevent room getting too hot, or make sure and keep curtains...

This was our third visit to this hotel and we had a wonderful time, again. This hotel is like a dream, rooms are beautiful, pools are gorgeous. Service is good and staff is very helpful.

The only downside of our visit was a loud, out of control weddingparty crowd on nov 11th. A bunch of drunk idiots were disturbing sleep for every other hotelguest on our floor. Eventually security had to intervene. The staff did their best to solve the problem but it should be avoided in the future.
