“Incredible views from upper floors and modern rooms”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

Grounds, lobby and rooms are lovely. Pool chairs were plentiful but moldy. Towels are available for guests. There are 3 pools but only the family pool is heated where a terrific water slide is. An adjoining property offers a lazy river ride but must reserve a spot and a wrist band 24hours in advance. With only a 1 day stay that was the only disappointment during our stay. There is a fabulous breakfast buffet. We plan on returning .

I stayed at this Hyatt while attending a 3-day meeting held at the the hotel.

The property seems very new and is very deluxe. From the moment you arrive you are treated with great service from the warm greeting at the front door to the chatty folks at the front desk who are quick to open up additional stations when even a hint of a line forms. They even offered me a glass of champagne (although I think that may have been due to my frequenter status).

My roomer (817) was quite large and well appointed with a partial view of the gulf. The bathroom was large and featured two sinks as well as a clever little motion sensing night light down near the floor that clicks on if you get up in the night. The room also had tons of drawers and a nice big closet with another motion sensing light so there is plenty of room to settle in. The king sized bed was nice and firm with lots of feather pillows and a crisp, light weight comforter. The desk was room with plugs built in to the front providing a convenient place for recharging without having to search for a plug or remove a light.

The food at the hotel was good and the service very efficient.

The hotel is located on a bit of land reclaimed from the mangroves so while technically on the water does not have a beach per Se. Their is a marina and a shuttle boat will take you out to a beach I believe. They do have a nice pool with a small water slide for the kids. Also, there are two resident Newfoundland dogs that hang out in the lobby that you can visit.

Upon arrival, all faces were friendly & happy. Beautiful, well-manicured grounds.Gorgeous Lobby with huge marble columns, flooring, etc. Lovely spot in the midst of SWFl landscape. Rooms with a fab view! A must is a room w a balcony! A Must to take in all the waterways, everglades, etc...
Dinner at Tarpon Bay was delicious. Great, airy, light restaurant.
Although, I do have 2 or 3 negative comments to share abt the hotel.
I made the reservation to enjoy the Girls Night Out Event & enjoy an overnight stay w a gf.
First of, the bathroom in our room, had ants :( By the door threshold, I noticed After returning from dinner (on-site), there were lots of small, black ants trailing in & out of little gaps in the wall/tiles.
Not anything to extreme, but certainly a turn-off.
Second, with making my reservation, I had requested a late check out on Sunday afternoon. They were very accomodating, & issued me a 5pm check-out time. I was very happy!
My gf & I spent our morning on Sunday eating in Tanglewood rest (yummy & upbeat) ~ a lovely morning spot~ & wandering around the "campus'. We enjoyed checking out the gift shop, purchasing goodies...looking in on the spa & asking abt the different treatments. Melodie was the associate on duty & so very sweet & helpful, assisting us in the small shop & telling us all abt the diff products Stillwater offers.
We swam, sunned, & relaxed all day by the pool. Here is where it went wrong.
Going back to the room to get prepared to leave, it was abt 4pm. Much to our disbelief & dismay, our room keys had been "erased"~ voided & we couldn't get back into our room. We had to call security to be let back into the room. Even though the reservation was confirmed with a late 5pm chck out----it was explained to me at the front desk upon checking out( with Kirby) that all keys r voided at 1pm. really?? One would think they would have alerted a guest to that at time of check in? Or change that policy/protocol?
Regardless, I plan on revisiting the hotel in the future. It truly is a beautiful place & the people that worked there tried very hard.

Room Tip: choose a balcony room to enjoy the skyline!!!

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your most recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa. Overall, it sounds like you truly enjoyed your time with us. However, please accept our sincere apology for the disappointment with your key not working in the afternoon when you specifically arranged a late departure. This should not have occurred. In addition, we have alerted our pest control company to immediately inspect and treat the 13th floor guestrooms as a preventative maintenance and want to thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We appreciate the opportunity to regain your faith in Hyatt and look forward to welcoming you back so that we may show you our true hospitality spirit for a pleasant experience.

Rivals our Ritz-Carltons - would definitely return here. Excellent restaurants, outstanding staff, (everyone from front desk, to servers, to coffee shop, to housekeeping - above and beyond!) comfortable, beautiful rooms. We loved every minute of our 3-day stay here and would return in a heartbeat!

Having never been to this part of Florida, we randomly chose this property. What a great choice! The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The property grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The pool area was perfect for our family. Our two daughters (ages 10 and 12) loved the water slide. The pool is perfect for smaller children with it's smaller slide and zero entry pool. As guests of the Hyatt, we were able to take a shuttle to their sister hotel and use their pool which included a lazy river. Although the hotel isn't on the water, guests can take a water shuttle to the private island which was the perfect place for beach combing. The shells were everywhere. The restaurant choices fit perfectly for us. The coffee shop has delicious ice cream, Tanglewood has a fantastic breakfast buffet ( kids pay their age, which for a resort, is unheard of). My kids favorite part was Hoss and Honey Bear, the 2 Newfoundland dogs who are the mascots of the property. Their owner, Paula, was so friendly and helpful. Leaving the dogs was very hard for my girls.
If there was any negatives, we wished the pool stayed open later and because it was off season, the restaurant wasn't open for dinner one night ( honestly, it was such a minor inconvience)

Green Features: Recycling bins are everywhere! By the pool, in the room and even by the elevators.

Dana, thank you for a wonderful review, we're thrilled that you and your family had a great vacation at our resort. Hoss and Honeybear do a wonderful job representing our warm, casual atmosphere at the front desk. We hope when winter's chill comes calling that you'll think of our warm, tropical breezes and consider visiting us again.

Best experience I've had so far. Three pools, one is adults only. Pools side restaurants offers great drinks and many food choice. Two excellent restaurants means you don't have to get in your car until its time to leave.

We look forward to welcoming you and your friends back very soon for your next Girls Weekend.
