We have been coming to vacation at Lake Kabetogama for 34 years and just this year discovered NLRO. Stayed for 9 days and can't say enough about the quality, customer service, efficiency and cleanliness of the resort and the cabins (as we stayed in 2 different cabins)! Tracy and Scott obviously take pride in what they deliver to their guests and we as guests are recipients of that pride. Better book or you lose!

It was a mother-son vacation over Labor Day. Even though our weather wasn't the best, we had a great time at NLRO. We rented a pontoon boat which provided us with luxury fishing. Kabetogama lake is beautiful! So many places to fish. The resort was fairly quiet at night so we slept well. Everyone was so kind and helpful at the resort. We were able to rent free movies. They have a ping pong table and foosball table for rainy days. We are hoping to stay again - but in a bigger cabin right on the lake - next time! The only change I can suggest is to modify the resort cabin map on the website. Our Eagle's Nest cabin looked like it was right on the water but it wasn't. However, had I read the cabin description more closely I would have realized this!

Room Tip: The cabins right on the lake are reserved quickly so plan ahead!

Nine men in their 60s from 5 states had a great time at Northern Lights! We all highly recommend this resort. The Fireside cabin was large enough to accommodate us comfortable. The view was worth the trip, the facilities were excellent, and Traci should run for public office. She gets it done with a great smile. It is simple - go to Voyageur National Park and stay at Northern Lights

My husband and I like to visit national parks and Voyageurs was on our list for 2017. We rented the Bass cabin at Northern Lights Resort. It was just the right size. The log cabin was old enough to be rustic on the outside but the furnishing inside were new within the past few years. The kitchen was one of the best stocked we've ever had in a rental. Tracy is the ultimate hostess with attention for details (chilled mugs in freezer, wood by campfire ring). Most of the other visitors were multi-generation families and heavy into fishing. We did get a license and a boat so we could fish for a day (they cleaned our catch). The area is beautiful and I would be hard pressed to say which was my favorite excursion. If you are looking to be in the area for whatever reason, definitely worth the stay.

We left this resort after one night because the unit we rented was not in the resort. It was called a loft but it was actually built over their two story maintenance garage in a parking lot. It has no view of anything and a propane tank and wood storage area is next to your fire pit and picnic bench located in the gravel driveway. The rest of the resort seemed nice and they did find us a suitable cabin in another resort. But we did not get a refund for the difference. We think they should have been more honest. There are no pictures of the grounds around this unit in their website.

Dear Carol, we also were disappointed that the accommodations did not suit you well, but glad that we were able to arrange for a nice alternative for you. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our beautiful lake Kabetogama and National Park area with the boat you rented from us too. Perhaps in the future you will be able to return to stay in one of our other resort cabins.

Take care,
Tracy
