Just like home cooking. Liver & onions is one of those meals you don't see all the time. My husband likes the taste. I like the stuff cabbage rolls. They make good homemade soups. The inside décor is nothing fancy but a nice quiet place to eat.

Oh my what a disappointment. The smell of mildew knocks you over as you walk in. The food is obviously all canned and just reheated. The salad had rotten lettuce throughout. We paid for our meal and left without eating it.

In eastern Brooksville, on Route 41 (which runs from the Great Lakes to South Miami Beach,) on the corner of "Walk" and "Don't Walk" stands a fabulous place,_ john's corner family restaurant_, with a few sad features. They are not open on weekends and they do not do breakfast.
Open 11am to 8pm, on weekdays.
John is the seasoned chef and his wife runs the front. They have been doing this for years and this place is just great. Start with a salad and soup, get one of the several specials, or go to the long menu, and get a home-cooked type meal served by pleasant people. Hamburgers are great, stuffed cabbage is very tasty, the grouper fingers are a popular favorite, and there are lots and lots of other items. Nothing fancy about the place, or the food, like being at home, where somebody knows how to cook. Prices are fair, probably comparable to "fast food" places, maybe less than some.
It's always a good day for me when I return to Brooksville and go to John's for lunch or dinner.
Oh yes, it's about 1/2 mile north of where Rt 41 crosses Rt 50, which runs east-west through Brooksville. Like me, try it a few times and you'll get hooked.
