Wife & I decided to watch the cruise ships depart and enjoy a seafood dinner on Sunday, May 18. We opted for Rusty''s at the port. Lot's of construction now going on at the port, so parking our car proved difficult. Happy to report that parking was the only negative aspect of our experience.
We asked to be seated outside on the deck, and had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. We got a seat at the bar and enjoyed two delicious rum drinks. Rusty's calls them Dirty Monkeys. Lot's of rum and real yummy.
Once seated in a shaded area under a pergola, we ordered jumbo coconut shrimp platters. Our food arrived quickly and the shrimp were excellent. Eight very large shrimp, French fries, & salad. The price was a reasonable $20 per entree. We received excellent service .
As we were eating the ships began to leave the port and the visual experience was outstanding.
We have previously enjoyed eating at Fishlips and Grills. Both of us felt Rusty's was the better experience, as much for service, quality of food and drink, and the viewing experience.

PS the French fries were outstanding. They also have a happy hour and an early bird special that was very reasonable. Around $14 for a fried shrimp platter. We didn't take advantage of the specials because we wanted the jumbo coconut shrimp.

My group of 14 was seated outside on the deck overlooking the port. The waitress was friendly and accommodating and helped us by re-configuring four tables so our party could be seated together. There was a guitar player/singer who was REALLY good, and the live music was a pleasant surprise given that we were there at 2:30 in the afternoon. We just missed out on the lunch buffet but we were still able to order off the early bird menu. The Caesar salad was excellent (the waitress mentioned that the dressing was homemade), and the fried shrimp that my husband ordered were absolutely delicious. The breading was light and they were really fresh and tasty. I got pecan encrusted fish, which was pretty good, but I'll probably order the shrimp next time. (We'll come on a Friday when the fried shrimp are on the lunch bar!) The Florida sunshine, gorgeous ocean view, live music, and excellent food made the whole experience very enjoyable and relaxing.

OK so it started bad when the waitress took off and was absolutely useless, having to track her down via another. We went with friends who are local and regulars and they were disappointed too. It sounds like it was a one off and a seriously dumb waitress who shouldn't be in the trade, but that didn't help our experience.

When the food did eventually arrive it was OK, nothing special. We had chosen to sit inside as there were not seats outside and I am sure sitting in the sun would have help perk it up a little.

Would we go again? honestly not sure, it wasn't cheap and I'd rather try another place where I can get some real service, which we have found to be unusual as the USA is normally great for service. I think Rusty's needs to keep a close eye on their staff as it was primarily that which put us off this place.

We sat on the outdoor deck in the back and the views of the water were perfect. We saw jumping dolphin and ships. The weather was perfect with a slight breeze. I ordered a blackened mahi-mahi while my wife ordered a blackened grouper. In hindsight, she wishes she ordered the oysters. I was tempted to order the half-dozen seafood platter consisting of shrimp, clam, mussells, and oysters. The fish we had was good but not incredibly good. We also got red potatoes which were good and salad. There was a guy playing music on the small deck and his show combined with the water view were the 2 highlights eating here.
