“A Step Back in Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

We so enjoyed driving around the loop road. This is old Florida at it's best. We stopped and enjoyed the view from a catwalk out to a deck over a small pond. The place was not only beautiful but so tranquil that it was almost magical, a step back in time. The road was well maintained.

“If you like bugs and flies, by all means, stop here”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Ok if you are going fishing, otherwise, you would see more and enjoy nature better in the Everglades.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

Gave us a chance to see things away from the town.
walk in the natural areas.
Found trails and docks and many critters.
Will go back to spend more time and see more sites.

“Florida nature on exhibit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

Although much of the refuge may be seen by car, my two most recent trips have been by river. Cruisng down the Suwannee allows views of birds, reptiles, turtles from each bank. Note: Vehicle access after dark has been curtailed. I am happy that this jewel has been preserved.

“Nice Walk through Nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2013

We first walked through the local cemetary which captured so much of family stories over the years and the unique way many families chose to be buried. We then walked over to the wooden board walk which extends over the water and flora and fauna for about a half mile. We saw lots of fish and birds, abandoned row boats and views of the shoreline. It was a very pleasant morning
