Cedar Key is one of our favorite place to go for a few days just to chill out and relax and we've stayed in several different rentals through the years. This was our first time staying at Harbour Master and it's become our favorite so far. We stayed in the 'Tranquility' and were very happy with our choice. The room hit all the requirements for us; immaculately clean, comfortable king bed with plenty of pillows, good water pressure in shower, and fantastic views of the gulf from the room and especially the balcony. A big plus was the full sized refrigerator for drinks and leftovers; also microwave, toaster oven, and kitchen utensils. This is one of the more private suites; from the Southern balcony all you see is the gulf, islands, and fishing pier. Other suites have differing views of water, adjacent restaurants, and Dock Street so you can pick the one that suites you. Their website has excellent descriptions of the suites with 360 degree views to help in your choice and a great staff to answer your questions. This is a great place and we can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Nancy was very pleasant and polite and accommodating. We booked for two nights and only wished we did for one...Had a surprise invite to stay with my cousin 3.5 hours away and couldn't get back in time. Our own loss.
The room we stayed in was called The Gardens and we really enjoyed it's uniqueness. With a small screened in porch setting in the back we could see the water and the street. The furnishings gave it a home like feeling. It offered a refrigerator, good size tv. Cozy living room and dining room combined, The only strange thing was the entrance opened to the bed room but it was still okay. The bed was very comfortable, gave us a good night's sleep. Downstairs there is the Dilly Dally Gally which I loved, offering a variety of items from jewelry to clothing to nic nacs and souvenirs and you can order any items online as well. The area is very quaint with a small beach area just walk distance away with boat rides offered for a fee. Shops all along the one way road that the suite sits on. Very pleasant (and can be very busy so as to not get a parking spot nearby during the day but the walk isn't far if you have to park elsewhere and you are most likely to get a spot close to the suite once evening comes). Enjoyed live music at a small restaurant across the way. And a retro 50's/60's cafe for breakfast just a few steps from the suite, also very nice. We just really enjoyed the uniqueness of the area.

We stayed in the "Sea Pearl" suite. It's large, very clean and has great views. The staff was courteous. We arrived Friday and left Monday morning. Restaurants, cocktails, entertainment, and shopping are all within walking distance. We rented a golf cart and explored the island one day. We also took a walk on the fishing pier every day. A perfect place to go and relax.

The rooms are all different and the site gives a decent overview of each. I have stayed in two rooms. Each had that kind of time share individually decorated feel. Both were large, clean, and well apointed with full kitchens and awesome views of the water. The balcony with feet on the rail almost excludes the reality that you are not on a ship. Staff was responsive and check on takes place in the gift shop out front.

The location is dead center of the "strip" on the water side (hence the majority of the views). That said, the "strip" on Cedar Key is only about 100 yards long. So this is kind of a spot where you get there early Friday and your car does not move until you check out Sunday.
There is really nothing you need to drive to with restauarnts, shops, and curiosity provoking galleries and museums all within about 1/2 mile circle. There is actually breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and nightlife all right on the strip so you could stay the weekend without crossing the street. There is even a fishing pier if that's your thing (head to the little hardware store opposite inland of the dock for better supply prices.)

While we did not notice the noise, there are active bars / restaurants on both sides of the hotel. I suspect during a festival or high season there could be some noise but after a visit to the Black Dog and many flavors of craft beer....falling asleep was easy.

Room Tip: Downstairs for more shade, upstairs for more view.

Loved, loved loved the balcony! Once we were in the room we only left once to get takeout for dinner and ate it on the balcony. Our plan was to eat at one of the local places, but we enjoyed the balcony too much to leave. It was really cool watching the dolphins swim by and the pelicans diving for fish. We will definitely stay here again...

For me and my family, Harbour Master Suites on Dock Street is the perfect place to stay in Cedar Key. It's always our first choice! It's always so refreshing to spend a weekend here. A perfect place to go and 'recharge your batteries'. Very accommodating and friendly staff. I've stayed many times and NEVER an issue. Everything is an easy walk right outside the door of your comfortable, clean room. Good food (Ken's for breakfast - Pickled Pelican, Steamers and/or Tony's for lunch and dinner), good shopping (downstairs in the Dilly Dally Gally shop), entertainment (across the street at the Raw Bar), leisure activities, etc. We absolutely were hooked after our first visit 15 years ago. Anyone who spends a few days here and does not leave refreshed...well, that's on THEM...and nothing to do with Cedar Key or what it always delivers - a wonderful experience. :)
Cordially,
Boi-Boi

What a great place. When we sat on the balcony it was like we were on a ship. We were in the tranquility room. It was a real suite with a kitchen, dinette, sitting area and bed. The only problem was we were out in the morning and there was a note that they were sorry they missed us and so our bed was not made up. If we needed anything we should go to the desk. Did not think that was right. We had never had that problem before. Someone always goes into the room to make up the bed and check the towels.

Room Tip: Ask for the Tranquility. It has the best view. May be noisy because of bar next door.
