It's hard to tell if Steamers is a restaurant that serves booze or a bar that serves food. I think most people who see it for the first time would think the latter because it looks more like a bar. There are several great selections of craft beer along with the usual domestics. The fully stocked bar that takes up a large part of the dining room offers daily mixed drink specials - Friday was Bahama Mamas for $5. We opted for that day's special of Cigar Brewing Company ale for $1 a glass. My wife and I both ordered the fried grouper sandwich dinner for $12.99. The fresh and perfectly cooked slab of grouper was served on a ciabatta bun with all the fixings along with a choice of French fries, cole slaw or potato salad. We opted for the fries which were extremely addictive. It was raining during our visit so we grabbed a table next to the windows overlooking the gulf. The panoramic view, good food and $1 beer made the experience quite enjoyable. Our waitress Diana was very friendly and efficient. There was no live music at lunch while we were there which was another plus for this couple. At night you can hear the music a block away so I can only wonder how loud it must be in the dining room. We will definitely come back to Steamers on our next visit to Cedar Key - at lunch time again so that we can peacefully enjoy the food and view.

Steamers is a "very" casual perfect little lunch place. Upstairs right on main street in town, with dining room overlooking the gulf, also have outside eating overlooking gulf. Very inexpensive, good selection of food, we had grilled/blackened shrimp tacos which were totally awesome, they came with one side, which we chose French, as our wait person said they were the 'best' and we believe they actually were. They also have craft beers, which we enjoyed with our tacos and fries. Great wait staff, and food terrific - also would be good place to just stop in for a 'pint' on a hot summer afternoon.

We went to Steamers while on a weekend outing on the recommendation of a local. The low country boil was awesome. Plenty of seafood for the price, all very tasty. The pasta with grilled chicken was average but a huge helping. Would have been nice to have bread with the pasta. However....the live music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation with our dinner. We are big fans of live music, but not so loud you can't think or enjoy your meal. There were several diners that we watched sit down and promptly leave due to the music. I would highly recommend checking to see if the music is blaring before you sit down. If it is, either sit outside or find somewhere else to eat so you can enjoy your meal.

Went in for lunch....really nice menu with lots to choose from. The clams diablo was really good; a pound of steamed clams in a slightly spicy broth. Live music and cold drinks. Attentive service. Fair prices.
