We stayed here with my wifes parents for 2 weeks from May 5th - 18th and could not have asked for a better stay.

The resort is lovely, very well kept gardens and very quiet. We stayed in block 11 which is a slightly newer one but stills needs updating slightly. We had a 2 bedroom flat which was fantastic, very roomy and the condition of the rooms was OK. The only critisism I could make is that there was not enough wardrobe space and some of the plug sockets were coming out of the walls. For what we needed it was perfect though as we only spent a few hours there a day, mainly for sleeping.

It is a brilliant locaiton for all of Disney and Universal with easy transport links to Boggey Creek, Busch Gardens and Kennedy Space Centre. The check in process was very quick indeed and have no complaints with that what so ever.

I would highly recomend this place, this golf course looked lovely ang the 10ft Alligator in the pond outside our room kept us entertained for hours!!

Once this is fully refurbished it will be a brilliant place to stay.

Room Tip: Block 11, overlooks a small lake with a 10ft alligator

Check in was a headache. Looong line @ 7pm. Once making it to the counter, the young girl had no personality, half a§§ answered our questions, talked to us like we're idiots and would disappear off in some room for minutes at a time. Finally getting our rm keys, she just circled our bldg and sent us on our "merry" way. No info, no welcome or enjoy your stay. On our last evening, we called and asked for an hour extended checkout. Was told yes, no problem. Checkout is now 11am. Great! Hmmp. 9:45am, on checkout morn., housekeeper just walks right in the door. Apologizes, not her fault for no communication, front desks, surprise surprise. Get a call at 10:05am from front desk asking if we could hurry up bc they have VIP guests checking in for our room soon. Really?!? Way to make ALL your guests feel welcomed and appreciated. We took our precious time and was out at 10:59. My husband called the front desk to dbl check that we will not be charged the $100 an hr after 10am fee & was assured we wouldn't be charged. Checked our account a few days later and we were. Now trying to clear it up with the great staff at the front desk who love to help their guests, Not!
Worst customer service experience ever!

They are in the process of updating all of the rooms, not that it interferes with your stay. Suite was large with plenty of space, we had a 1 bedroom near the main check in area and one of the pools. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, utencils and pots and pans. Having a washer and dryer is great. There is no maid service but if you need towels or shampoo etc., they will bring it. You can have the maid service come in to clean for a fee. This is a time share but they don't force you to go on the tour only if you want. I would suggest the Mystic Dunes to anyone it's immaculate, beautiful and very quite., Staff is more than willing to help you with any needs you might have. It's convient to all major parks. The shuttle to Disney, Sea World and Universal only runs once a day, so you do need a car to get around. Thank you staff at Mystic Dunes for a wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to everything it's to far to walk other wise.

My husband and I stayed at this resort twice in the past month. The first room we got was a one bedroom deluxe suite, and at first we were highly impressed. As we were doing the walkthrough of the unit, besides finding several dead cockroaches in the unit, as well as the porch, we realized that the carpet where the bed and tub meet was completely soaked. We called the front desk and made them aware, and told them that we were hopeful it was just from the tub recently being used, or possibly when the room was being cleaned and hopefully th next day it would be dry. Well as the night progressed, so did the water. The wetness seemed to spread covering a larger area. We were just advised "Oh, okay, thanks." by the operator. No accommodations were made to switch rooms whatsoever. That was a huge inconvenience, especially getting out of bed and stepping into sogginess, and then walking on tile. We didnt complain much because we werent in the room much, only to sleep. We did spend alot of time on the back porch which was quite peaceful and relaxing. The big downfall, besides the water, was the roaches, dead and alive, as well as at 7 am, the sprinkler system went on hitting our windows, waking us up. So if you have a bottom unit, do NOT expect to sleep past that, unless you can sleep through that sound.

Fast forward to 2-3 weeks later, the only room available when we booked was a 2 bedroom deluxe, so we took it. It was another bottom unit. Met our expectations completely! It was large, comfortable, NO WET RUG! We were excited to start our weekend, until we went on the back porch and found THREE dead roaches...That was rather disgusting. I would think that if it were cleaned prior, or swept out there, we would not have seen that. My husband swept them away and all was well. Besides the racket coming from directly above us, which we understand is not the resorts fault, all was enjoyable until we woke the next morning. Once again, at 7 am, the sprinklers hit the windows as well as our patio. our patio was completely drenched making it impossible to sit out there for a cup of coffee like we like to do. It was quite loud and disturbing. We also woke to find MORE dead roaches, this time under the dining table.

If we DID ever decide to come back to this resort, we would NOT get a bottom unit, as it has been a big inconvenience not allowing for relaxation unless you are an early bird and also, maybe the roaches wouldnt be as bad if on a higher floor. The rooms are large and roomy, and the staff we encountered was all friendly, especially the guys at the gate. We really have mixed reviews and are debating on returning or trying another resort on the same road. You pay for a vacation, and although ours was a short weekend getaway, we expected to be able to sleep in and not really lift a finger. That was hard with having to constantly sweep away dead cockroaches most of the weekend! All in all, its a good value. We are Florida residents and understand that there are ALWAYS bugs, but we have encountered way too many in 2 short visits.

Room Tip: Do not get a bottom floor room! Unless you like to be awoken by sprinklers hitting your window and screened porch.
