We stayed here while attending a couple of Yankees spring training games. While it was arguably a little too far away from Steinbrenner Stadium (basically bad traffic), I wanted to be near the beach and was not disappointed! The hotel was clean, rooms were roomy and the staff was great. Especially loved Devan at Evys bar and the 6th floor bar location was just super - some shady spots, some sunny spots, great views and cool at night with fireplaces. We enjoyed the bar downstairs on the beach but did not use the pool or beach. We walked to great restaurants and shops and walked south across the short bridge to Sand Key Park beach which I would highly recommend to people trying to get away from the crowds a few blocks in the other direction at Clearwater Beach. There were convenience stores nearby for us to bring back juice/water etc. for the room.
We noticed some mild water pressure fluctuations in the shower during the mornings, nothing that was severe. My only other gentle carp is the lack of storage space. There were only 3 drawers and when staying for a week we ended up living out of our suitcases a lot. We would definitely come back to this Hampton Inn and really enjoyed this area!More
