A beautiful hotel, excellent service and staff attention. Cover up before eating in the restaurant though - it's freezing! We tried their special offer steak dinner - have never tasted such mouthwatering steak - well worth it. Kids found the pool perfect, parents enjoyed the fitness room, and the laundry was quick and easy to use as well as being impeccably clean. Rooms were large and comfortable and very clean. The only thing that wrankled was the time spent getting up and down to our top floor room - the lifts are incredibly slow. Don't hesitate about choosing this hotel, you just cannot be disappointed here.

Just returned from a great break in Orlando/Clearwater. The second week was at the Marriot on Sand Key and we had a great time. All of the staff were extremely helpful and provided a fantastic level of service. Rooms were great and offered a view out over the bay via the balcony and across to the beach from the front of the suite. 2 hammerhead sharks spotted via the balcony and I'm just glad I saw them after we'd been on the jet-ski's!!

Restaurant a bit pricey but the daytime specials for both food and cocktails were good value. Our 8 year old son spent a few mornings in the kids club (Lisa's) and really enjoyed it.

We had breakfast at Maggies right next to the hotel which was both delicious and good value. Maggies give you a 10% discount voucher for the Backwater restaurant (enjoyed as well) which is at the end of the boardwalk 30 yds from Maggies. Please make sure you go to the Island Way Grill which is 2 minutes through Clearwater as the food and surroundings are excellent. Didn't think much of Clearwater itself and agree with an earlier post which said Pier60 was a bit of a dive.

Played golf at the Bellaire Blitmore course on the recomendation of the very helpful concierge at the hotel. Friendly enough bunch and the course was nice as well but the rental clubs were prehistoric and did spoil the experience a bit. Pricey as well at $80 and I probably should have drove a little further out and played at Cove Cay who had on offer at around $37 inc food (clubs extra). There are lots of courses to choose from and the concierge will give you a booklet listing all of the courses in the surrounding area.

Would definitely return to the Marriot Clearwater and lots of Amercian's who I spoke to have returned to the same hotel.

This hotel was in a great postion, with fantastic views, but the noise level from the air condition unit on the outside of the building 10 floors down is all you could hear all night,we had very little sleep all week,it was also very expensive at the bar $5 for a bud draught when down from hotel is a resturant were it cost $1.60 for the same.

Good location, but not on the beach...across from county park beach.
the main restaurant is overpriced and food is just average..
the rooms are comfortable and clean, staff is friendly and
accomodating. Room prices are high, not a four star hotel
in my opinion. Nice view of the gulf from outside of hotel room,
separate master bedroom is a plus

We stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon and had a brilliant time. The rooms were lovely and larger than expected.
The restaurant was lovely (but a little chilly) dinner portions were huge so beware when ordering side dishes. Breakfast was all fresh and for $18 you could have a full buffet, it may sound a little expensive but the range of food is huge and worth the money (cereal, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, full american, lots of breads and cakes etc etc). The outside bar served lovely food too.
The pool was kept lovely and clean a little on the small side but who travels to Florida and stays by a pool everyday??
The staff were friendly and really helpful, getting us towels, water and driving us to the beach. Our room was kept immaculate and we felt completely safe at night.

Would love to go back. :)

Great hotel, full of different peaple from all over the states so a nice vibe to it. Staff great but the by far the best was the bell boy at the front desk, they went the extra mile. Pier 60 was a bit of a dive and you can sea the sunset much better from the beach directly over the road from the hotel, our 4 year old so commented 'why is the sun melting in to the sea'! have fun at Disney then get down to clearwater for a few days R&R and the drive is only 1 hour and as easy as you like. We will be going again!

Really nice staff. Almost Disney like service. Place is starting to show some age. I believe it was opened around 1993. That said, relatively well maintained, including the rooms and pool. Food was also good. Sand Key Beach did have some shells (due to previous hurricane) but was relaxed and low key compared to Clearwater Beach. The quick van ride to the beach also included towels, bottles of water, umbrella, and chairs (1st come, 1st serve basis). However, to enjoy the shops and restaurants at Clearwater Beach, it is only 10 minutes away. Rooms were perfect for 2 small children, as they slept on the pull out sofa bed and able to be divided by a set of doors.
