As we drove into clearwater beach my first thought was that it appeared very nice. The beach had sugar white colored sand and in front of the Hyatt there were cabana's and umbrella's lined up in a uniform fashion. First impression of hotel was very nice. Stands out from the other properties. Checked into room 937. Nothing special- certainty not a 4 star room but we can deal with it. My first inclination that my week was going to be subpar was when I went onto the balcony and my view was the roof of a public parking garage with a group of young people sitting on the ledge smoking weed and drinking. I guess my real problem is not the Hyatt but clearwater beach. The hotel sits between a public parking garage and public parking lot. The beach in front of the hotel is congested with no where to sit without people invading your space. Most of the cliental on the beach is large groups of undesirables. The beach walk could be nice but beware- I worked in prisons for 27 years and it felt like the recreation yard on a nice day. Felt very unsafe with packs of thugs trying to intimidate you with loud music and thuggish behavior. Only a few places to eat with decent food and a nice atmosphere. O by the way, there was several shooting's while we were there with 2 occurring right at the Hyatt. 1 schmuck couldn't even shoot straight and hit the building (Hyatt)3 times.

The room, the food, the service were great. The area itself is too touristy for our liking. The pool is small but the pool area is a good size. Beautiful beach just across the street is public so very crowded. Lots of kids at pool so not very relaxing.

We stayed here for two nights in May 2014 and loved it. The room was huge, clean and had everything you could possibly need. Location is perfect with good parking facilities etc too.

Although one of the more expensive hotels in Clearwater it is worth the money so we will definitely stay there again the next time we're in town :)

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive comments regarding your recent stay at our resort in Clearwater Beach. It is always a pleasure to hear that the hard work and commitment of our staff was instrumental in that success and you enjoyed very much your room overlooking the Gulf and the Bay area. Also, it is nice to hear that you will recommend the property for others for the cleanliness, and its great location. Your appreciation was forwarded to the Executive management team at the hotel. Hope to welcoming you in the near future.

We spent a week at this hotel in May, our second visit to Clearwater, the first time at this hotel. I have mixed feelings about the hotel, location is fab, right on the beach and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. However, both during checking and check out we did not experience the great hospitality that we normally experience in Florida, and this is our 9th holiday in Florida. The check out especially was very cold, we weren't thanked for our stay and we weren't even asked if we had a nice stay.... I did feel very strongly and asked to speak to a manager to give some feedback personally.

The room was lovely and clean and had great views, however I think the $15/day resort fee is just another way to make money. It's supposed to be for Internet access, pool towels and 2 bottles of water a day. The Internet was awfully slow and kept dropping off and I think we were left bottles of water on 2 occasions... And pool towels I would expect as standard. There is also a $16/day parking fee. Also we had travelled with Virgin Holidays, and the brochure had said if you were a member if the frequent Virgin club, which we are, you would get a free gift upon arrival... No one at the hotel had heard of this.,. Luckily I had the brochure page with me and eventually we were given a free bottle of wine... Also, we had a free night, and our hotel invoice clearly stated that we would not be charged a resort fee on any free night... But yes, on check out we were charged for all 7 nights, luckily again I was able to show the invoice and eventually we were refunded a night.

After all this would I recommended this hotel, yes for location, but not for service.

My family of 6 stayed in a 1 bedroom premium ocean view suite for 2 nights before heading to Disney World. There were some great things about this hotel. The room was very large, and the bathrooms in it were lovely. We had wonderful views of the water from the 3 decks off of our room. The pool deck was gorgeous with a jaw-dropping view of the Gulf, plenty of lounge chairs, a gated baby pool, and a great bar/restaurant with poolside service and fab drink specials. There were really nice, well-appointed and clean bathrooms poolside, and the beach towel check was conveniently located both at the pool and on the beach. Additionally, the breakfast buffet was good, and the nicer restaurant on the property had a free dinnertime kids' buffet. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. HOWEVER, this hotel is located across a busy street from a dirty, loud, crowded, smokey PUBLIC beach. You can rent cabanas and lounge chairs, but save your money because a huge group of locals smoking cigarettes will plop down right in front of you with a tent, a radio, and a buffet table to hold their coolers of food. Do not let the Hyatt's website fool you, the beach is NOT PRIVATE. It was wall-to-wall people the whole weekend, and we could barely find space to build a sand castle even though we rented both a cabana and a pair of lounge chairs with an umbrella. Seriously, this beach was unlike anything I have ever seen before with its overflowing trash cans and people EVERYWHERE. I mentioned the great poolside drink service as a positive, but the negative that goes along with it is the amount of sloppy dunk people in the pool. By the end of the afternoon, there were couples making out in the water as well as adults playing a rowdy game of beach ball all over the shallow end. As a final negative, the rooms were really dirty--- our feet got black on the bottom from walking around them, and the housekeepers did not replenish towels, glassware, or toiletries.

Room Tip: A 1-bedroom suite was very large and perfectly accommodated 2 adults and 4 small children.

This Hotel is fantastic al of the staff are so friendly and nothing is too difficult for them, they genuinely go out their way to make your stay enjoyable . The facility's are very good eg swimming pool sun loungers pool area are very clean.
Our room was a 1 Bed premium suite on the fifteenth floor with fantastic views of the ocean and Pier sixty , the suite had a large open plan kitchen with a superb lounge to relax in, the king size bedroom had a very large on suite bathroom with walk in shower..
We also found this Hotel to be well located for the beach and restaurants plus entertainment .
