“Relaxation after Orlando”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

We stayed 4 nights in the Hyatt after 2 weeks in Orlando. We had 3 rooms for our extended family. There was a small problem with our room availability when checking in but this was resolved to our satisfaction by the management very quickly. All rooms have a kitchenette with every thing you need to make breakfast and lunch, a large fridge freezer, being British we asked for a kettle which was delivered promptly to the room! All rooms very spacious and clean, we had rooms on the ninth and eleventh floor. Avoid floor eight as you will get a lot of thoroughfare to the swimming pool which is located on the eight floor.

The beach is amazing, and the sea as warm as a bath. We had unsettled weather during our stay which meant that there was little to do close by when it rained. Would recommend the hotel for a short break.

Room Tip: Avoid the eight floor as lots of people passing through to gain access to the swimming pool which is...

This hotel is located on the beach with easy beach access and amenities. Beach tents and umbrellas with 2 lounge chairs are available for rent from a non-hotel vendor. The hotel provides beach and pool towels that must be returned each day. The waters of the Gulf were truly clear, warm and a beautiful blue/green. We experienced days of the Gulf waters being as still as a fresh water lake and then there were times that we had some large swells/breakers..Our room was a Deluxe suite that included 2 very comfortable queen beds, a full kitchen, dining area, sitting area, 3 closets, a large bathroom with shower/tub combo, double sinks and a separate toilet area. The room also had a very large balcony suitable for sunbathing or just sitting outside relaxing.. From the balcony we had a view of the Gulf and bay. We had a magnificent view of the rising August Super Moon. There were heavy drapes covering the balcony windows/door that kept the room relatively dark when closed. Although our suite was directly across the hall from the entrance to the 8th floor pool, we never had an issue with loud talking, noise, etc. Room service was excellent. The Shor restaurant food was very good with a wide variety of selections for breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is an open bar directly across from the Shor restaurant with a coffee bar that serves Starbucks coffee drinks. EVERY hotel staff member with whom we had contact was extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel offers Spa amenities but we did not use these services. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I believe that all rooms have a view; either of the pool area or of the beach and/or bay. If you enj...

My husband and I have been going to the Hyatt each summer for the last few years. Perfect location to take advantage of all that Clearwater Beach has to offer - all within walking distance. The Jolly Tolley pick up is right by the hotel if you want to go further out. The hotel itself is stunning - beautiful decor in the lobbies, the rooms themselves are quite beautiful and the view of the Gulf of Mexico is priceless. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Because there is a full kitchen in the rooms, we were able to have most of our meals in the room -actually, sitting on our balcony facing the north side of the beach. The rooms are very clean and we upgraded to the King size bed one room suite (with two bathrooms) -well worth the extra $50 per night, as we got a larger balcony than the other rooms. The 8th floor pool is a great place to relax, as is the 16th floor hot tub area - which has very comfy cushioned lounge chairs. This is the only Clearwater Beach hotel we will stay at.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the north side, unless you want a room overlooking the 8th floor pool.

Green Features: I like that there are recyclable bins in the rooms.

This was a second trip to this property for a business meeting. We took the kids and they had a ball at the pool and beach. The beach is across the street but, easy access from the hotel elevator. Lots of activities for kids at the hotel and beachside. Several restaurants and shops within walking distance. Rooms have a kitchenette which is great for a family vacation. We had a room on the twelfth floor overlooking the pool and beach with great views. Very nice resort. Will return.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view of the beach or they bay. Rooms overlooking the pool have the best view of the...

Vacation time was limited this year, so we opted for a "stay"cation at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach.

We had expected a side view of the ocean, you know, the kind that you have to go out on the balcony to really see. But our bellman walked us by the windows opening to Clearwater Bay to our room and opened the doors to a direct oceanfront view.

Well, it did overlook the pool and had the south and north wings framing it. But, it was still oceanfront and there was no better place to watch the incredible sunsets.

There's plenty to do, swimming in the pool or Gulf, a Pirate cruise, fishing, water sport rentals, or just hanging around the hotel.

A slight hiccup...we had asked for 2 beds and ended up with a King. When I politely pointed out that 2 beds were an up charge, Jeremy apologized and reduced our rate. A few moments later, he called back and apologized again and told us that the resort charge had been waived, more than exceeding our expectations.

Back to the real world with a flat tire awaiting us at the front door, but the valet staff changed it for us and we were on our way. In retrospect, we should have seen it as a sign and stayed a few more days,

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 3 children. We had a 2 bedroom suite as fancied getting away from Orlando for a couple of days and having a bit of r&r. The 2 bed suite was amazing, more space than you could ever wish for. Ours was overlooking the main pool with a direct view onto the gulf and amazing sunset views. The staff were quite helpful and breakfast was nice. Food by the pool was really good especially the buffallo chicken sandwich.
We stayed at the Sandpearl just down the road last year and had an amazing time. We probably went expecting the same type of thing, so were left a little disappointed. We thought this hotel had it's own beach, but you have to cross the road onto the public beach. We had a nice weekend, but if we went again, we would stay at the Sandpearl. Similar prices, but it is a lot more luxurious and has it's own private beach
