“Great place to take your children”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

While spending the dayin Clearwater we really enjoyed this park. My son and I saw wild peacocks, several rabbits, many turtles and an otter. I was amazed being so close to the city that you could find a place with such a natural setting. Well worth the vsit and $3 entrance fee. They also have a nature center with birds and other small animals.

“Excellent park”
Reviewed 23 May 2013

Nice park for 3 dollars per person and many animals to see in the wild. Really helpful workers . A old vulture from the 80's that is pretty tame. Nice wide walking trails and boardwalks that border a lake

“A wonderful morning nature walk with the family”
Reviewed 8 May 2013

What a great find so close to the action on the beach! My wife and I took the kids for a morning nature walk at this park during our stay in Clearwater Beach, and had a very nice time. The trails are nice and well-maintained, there are lots of beautiful plants and animals to see too...so bring your camera! If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of an alligator or two breaking the surface on the lake too! At only $3 per person (no charge for our 4-year-old), it's an inexpensive little break from the beach.

“Hidden gem just off the highway!”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

This hidden 50 acre preserve is located just off Rt. 19 in Clearwater. There is a very nice interpretation center with animal displays and educational materials. The park offers a variety of education programs and has presentations in conjunction with local Audubon. Very nice walking trails and boardwalks that could be negotiated by wheelchair. There is also a focus on energy and a really interesting water tower exhibit. The butterfly garden is small but delightful. A nearby peacock farm allows their birds to run free and you may see some of them around the park. We saw a male in full display and another male in the parking lot trying to pick a fight with a 'challenger' which was really his own reflection in a car. Local volunteers staff the interpretation center. A lovely high school student, Lizzie, was friendly and informative. You certainly can't beat the small price of $3 to spend a few hours here!
