Very well kept, friendly, and safe family atmosphere with something for people of all ages. Go and spend the day here like my wife and I did. Perfect central location to enjoy the beautiful City of Clearwater and it's other amenities & activities from. reasonably priced food, and beach umbrella & chair rentals also available. Clean clean clean!

We went for a day of fishing here, it was great. Cheap and a unique experience. The pier is pretty long too.

Want to thrill the kids, take the jet screamer boat ride. I'm almost 64 and I loved the ride. If you like parasailing, deep sea fishing, dolphin cruises or dinning cruises, or just relaxing on the beach, it's all available at Pier 60,

We hit Clearwater Beach for the day for a spot of sunbathing and headed on to the pier to catch the sunset. We were surprised that we had to pay to get to the end of the pier, but at $1 each it wasn't much of a problem.

The pier is primarily used for fishing from, which is I think $8 per person, so it was quite busy with people fishing. As we were walking towards the end of the pier we noticed that somebody had actually caught a shark! It was only a small one and I couldn't say which type it was but it was an impressive sight compared to the standard fish that were also being caught.

Anyway, after dodging all the fishing rods and the pelicans trying to get a free meal we found a spot at the end of the pier for the sunset show. The pier is perfectly situated for the sunset as it is almost dead centre to the sun, which adds to a beautiful showing. The sunset itself was just stunning. From the pier it's just an unobstructed view over the Gulf of Mexico and it's just fantastic. A must see for definite, providing you can ignore the fishing bait and bird mess scattered around the end of the pier.

OK, let me begin by being clear about a personal preference- I hate walking behind people looking at stuff. It blows, you never know when they're going to bob or weave or stop or whatever, but the thing is, that weird walk all the way down the pier is part of its charm. Tons of vendors set up tables of goods against the sides of the pier and there's a steady flow of traffic in and out both ways. Some interesting art, some not so interesting "art" and just a lot of people-watching. All the way down at the end of the pier is a little bait and tackle shop with other various sundries and I must recommend going all the way down to see it because 1.) the staff is super zen-god status about people
2.) there is a bathroom
3.) you will find some of the items available on the walk up there for less than what the folks on the pier are asking
4.) you can really feel the movement of the pier all the way at the end. There's a sort of jiggle and sway that's fun to recognize.
