“Great Place In Clearwater Beach, Fl”

Recently back from this hotel and I can surely say I would stay there again and again... The room was awesome. The views are breathtaking. We had a harbor/marina view w/balcony. Room was always clean. Very spacious. Lobby is on the 5th floor (little strange) and staff was very friendly. Didn't do the breakfast buffet so can't speak on that. Hotel is first hotel on the block and is right across the street from the beach right next to all the activities. Great location. Lots of shopping and restaurant nearby. We stayed of the 4th of July weekend. Only negative thing I would have is that its $15 a day to park your car. Also, if you plan on using your car, the traffic and get very heavy in the afternoon. This is an island and there is only one way on and off. Traffic was at a standstill the night of the 4th for like 2.5 hours. Would not go to this area again on a holiday weekend.

Beach was incredible as well. White sands and warm water. At times I thought the water was too warm. Again, if you don't like crowds, not the place for you.

Pier 60 directly across the street. You have to pay $1 to go all the way to the end of the pier where the fisherman are. At night it is gorgeous. Light off pier shining in water. One night we watched 4 dolphins swooping around eating the little fish. Tried fishing off pier with no luck. You can rent and pole and buy bait at little shop on pier. You have to pay $8 to fish. So fishing outing cost $19. $8 for pole, $8 to fish and $3 for bait. Performers and vendors come on the pier 2 hours before and until 2 hours after sunset. Nice time to be out. The sunsets here rival any I have seen anywhere else.

Room Tip: Any room seemed like it would work. I was in room 920.

Stayed here after walking out of The Beachview Inn because it's inhabitable!! This was a welcome respite. The lobby is so clean and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast (which is included) had a lot to offer such as eggs, sausage, yogurt, bagels, etc... we had an Ocean View that was breathtaking! Will return soon!

Room Tip: Get an Ocean View, it is amazing!

We spent a week at Pier House 60 in June 2014 for some relaxing family time on beautiful Clearwater Beach.

First, the positives. The hotel is centrally located to shopping, restaurants, and, of course, Pier 60. We were fortunate to stay on a higher floor with fantastic views of both the beach and the intercostal waterway. I was a bit skeptical at first about road noise and especially noise from the roof top bar given our close proximity, but was pleasantly surprised at how quiet our room was. The roof top bar is great and offers fantastic views. It has a limited menu, but the quality of the food that they serve is great. The pool is simple yet heated so we were always able to enjoy a refreshing dip.

Some things we didn't enjoy. There are only 2 elevators for a nine story hotel with 4 floors of structured parking. The hotel was fully occupied during our stay and it sometimes took forever to get up or down. Also, the rooftop bar gives away free shots at sunset (a positive!), but it draws quite the crowd every night from outside the hotel and this further adds to the elevator congestion. You can't take the stairs because you can only go down as there is no entry to the floors with guest rooms. This is a good safety feature, but a bit of a hassle. The continental breakfast was just o.k. with a limited variety of hot food that is served. The air conditioning in the larger guest rooms isn't powerful enough to keep the room cool, a necessity in Florida during the summer. The hotel staff appeared to be aware of this and offered us a fan. Between the A/C and the fan the room temperature hovered around 78-84 during the day and 74-76 at night. This was a bit warmer than we would have preferred; however, it was definitely cooler than the 98-degree heat outside!

The hotel is newer and is a good value compared with some of the other surrounding properties, such as the Hyatt, Hilton, or Sand Pearl.

Also, if you've never been to Clearwater Beach before, you have to stop by one of Frenchy's establishments for one of their legendary grouper sandwiches! My all-time favorite is Rockaway's, but Pier 60 is closest to Frenchy's South Beach.

I was hesitant to stay at a hotel that wasn't right on the beach. But the price was right and the walk to the beach is very easy. The hotel is pretty new, so everything seems fresh and clean. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and housekeeping was excellent. For example, the balcony, an often overlooked area, was kept very neat and clean. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Upper floors have a great view, but even the lowest floor is the 5th or 6th (parking is below). There is no hidden "resort fee" that some hotels charge, though there is a $15/day parking fee. The front desk staff was satisfactory and the elevators were quick. There is a fun and handsome rooftop bar that has good drinks and snacks (the salsa seemed to be made in-house). It is the place to be at sunset. Unless you have a corner room, you have to choose between harbor view (with a balcony) or beach view (with windows). I think both would be fine. Breakfast was OK---cereals, bagels, yogurt, and the like. I was pleased to see fresh fruit, but some of it was overripe both days.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the ice machine.

We stayed in Clearwater the week of June 24 at Pier House 60 and really enjoyed our room. The room was bigger than we thought it would be with two queen beds and a sofa/pull out bed which worked out great! Balcony view was nice as well. Only complaints might be that the air conditioning unit wasn't working too well on our last night and the free breakfast wasn't good at all. They did come up to look at the unit, however. The breakfast was just adequate but my husband wasn't happy with it all and a couple days we just got something else. Other than that, we did enjoy it and it was very clean with cute towel animals on the bed each day after they cleaned the room, very nice touch!

I celebrated a milestone birthday with my best friend and we couldn't be happier with Pier House 60. Everything was clean, the service was excellent and the view from our top floor room was amazing! The roof top bar was a plus too ;) It is also centrally located to everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: Request the top floor for incredible views
