“Excellent! A Fine Dining Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

My husband and I were seeking a special restaurant to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We heard of Café Ponte when they sponsored an event at our country club (Drive for a Cure at East Lake Woodlands Country Club). Checking out their website, we decided this was definitely the place to go for our anniversary dinner. Initially, my husband made reservations for 6:30 PM but noticed they had an early dining special of a 3-course meal so we changed the reservation to 6:00 PM.
The restaurant is in a shopping center. They have done a very good job of giving an extra flair with plenty of plants around the outside and created a very nice outdoor dining patio. On this warm summer evening, we dined inside. The décor is a clean modern look with a warm charm. The wait staff was excellent taking care of any need or request. Starting with the complimentary champagne, we delighted in this special dining experience and venue. We both opted for the Early Dinner Menu of the 3-course dinner. I had the Fried White Asparagus Appetizer while my husband went with their tasty mushroom soup. Each were delicious! My lobster served in a pot was beautifully presented and so tasty with huge chunks of lobster in a cream sauce (similar to a lobster pie). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sea scallops. The trio-dessert was a wonderful finale to our anniversary dinner. They also have an extensive wine selection.
We can highly recommend Café Ponte for an upscale dining experience. It was quiet on the Monday night we were there.

“Creative food, elegant atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

I've visited many times, mostly at lunch time while entertaining out-of-town business guests. The food and service both have always been excellent. Some favorites are the pad thai, gnocchi, salads, meatloaf. Soup is always excellent as well. The atmosphere is elegant but comfortable, not too stuffy.

“Bravo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

We chose to eat here while we were visiting from Houston as our guests have come several times for their "Tasting Menu" and were wild about trying their dinner menu. When we entered this restaurant we were taken by its lovely simplicity. Our only negative for the entire evening was being greeted by two young hostesses at the door lacking pleasant personalities. However, once we were seated, our waiter blew us away and the chef exceeded all expectations. The waiters initials "SS" was personal, respected our conversations, he was always professional and
humorously right on top of our hot topics and his service was flawless. He spaced our courses magnificently. He described the Menu perfectly almost causing us to order everything! For starters we ordered the "Charcuterie" assortment of cured meats, pork pate, cheeses and accoutrements. Also the Carpaccio and Oysters. The four of us chose wisely and couldn't believe how intense and enjoyable everything was. The Sea Bass and Scallops were just incredible, but the lobster was beyond expectations. The presentation had us in awe! It was presented with the top half of the Lobster over the handle of a 2 quart Quisinart saucepan. The pan was covered in a golden puff pastry hiding a melange of onions, small potatoes and Lobster meat in a light cream sauce. Wow!
This restaurant offers you to bring your own wine and you pay a corking charge if you want. But keep in mind they do have an incredible glassed in wine room of their special wines and offerings from an incredible wine list. We were so full after dinner we could only enjoy a small dessert sampler which was also delectable.
We can't wait to come back in the fall and enjoy another enticing menu offering.
Thank You Cafe Ponte!

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

We had dinner there 6-14-14. We were delighted that the food and service was as good as we remembered from previous visits. I had the pre fixe special rigatoni bolognasse with seared ocean scallops. My husband had lobster pot pie. We were not rushed, and each course was served in a timely manner

“Another outstanding dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Let me start off by recommending our waiter, Jeffrey. He deserves 5 stars for his style and service. The 6-course meal for 5 of us started at 7:45PM and went perfectly until the last dessert sampler at 11:00PM. Yes, those of you who prefer fast food should stick with Wendy's. The starter was a mousse bouche followed by a chilled soup with spicy corn chowder infusion. A light salad and cheese sampler followed before the main courses of petite filet and lobster. The house bread sampler was delicious as was each of the 6 pairings of wine before the dessert. Neither light on the diet nor the wallet but always a well deserved self indulgence, we recommend you try the Chef's sampler ($85) with the wine pairing ($35).
