I stayed at the Howard Johnson on 3/7/12. The room we were assigned to, looked ok at first. Considering the rates right now are extremely high. The average rate is usually $50 per night, but right now its $124 plus tax. For this rate my fiance and i expect the room to be at least clean in which it was not. After spending time relaxing after a long day, we started to notice how unclean the room was. We seen that green mold was forming in the corner of the mirrors. The blankets were dirty and or stained, riddled with burn holes as well as the chairs. The air quality of the room was terrible and smelled foul as if it had been cleaned but no one has slept in it for months. There was not a way to receive fresh air due to not being able to open a window. The phone did not work in the room and was taped together. When i finally went down to ask for a new room. The clerk "Nicole" made it seem as if the mold wasn't a problem. Telling me that its not mold. I told her that the blankets and phone didn't work in which she had an attitude the entire time. Acting as if i was making this up. I even told she is more than welcome to see it for herself. She finally decided to give us a new room. The new room was just as bad, but thank god it didn't have mold. The blankets and chairs were stained and had burn holes. The mini fridge was filthy. The bath tub was dirty. The mirror closet door was cracked. The sink faucet didn't have a metal screen so the water was uncontrollable splashing every where. The walls and doors were stained with god knows what. The A/C unit was broken and didn't work. We turned it on and it was so loud that it was not even possible to sleep with it on. My fiance and i decided to take pictures just in case the hotel wanted to dispute these claims.
Earlier in the day when we first arrived, we decided to use the computer. We thought we had found a cheaper rate for the hotel. When we asked the front desk attendant Nicole she kept telling us "there was no way"! repeatedly and acted in a complete unprofessional manner to say the least. Later in the day when we went to use the computer, she told us "oh you cant use the computer after 10pm". We booked this hotel on the basis that it had a computer lab to use. She had seen us for most of the time we were here using the computer and never bothered to inform us that it closed at 10pm. When i asked her why she didn't tell us, she states "because you didn't ask". Overall we are very dissatisfied with our experience. It has been a huge hassle and uncomfortable for use since we first checked in. The only reason we didn't leave was because we do not have a vehicle to leave. God forbid you or your animal gets sick from the mold they will blame it on you just like Shane [--] has been doing to our family. Do not stay here. Buyer beware. They are refusing to refund my family and i our money it has been going on for over a month now. I was going to post photos but for some reason it cannot upload them.
