“Summer Getaway”

As a Tourism Director in Southern Illinois, I am always looking for new places to visit. My husband and I were looking for a quiet place close to the beach to unwind and we found this jewel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and cozy. Vicky and her staff were very helpful in pointing out great places to eat and shop. Having the pool as an alternate to the salt water was fantastic. My husband and I have already booked our vacation to Camelot for 2012 where we will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary and renew our vows. We couldn't think of a better place to be, or better people to share this with. Thanks to Vicky and Camelot for giving us the perfect place to enjoy the beach and each other.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the 1st floor because you could walk right out to the pool.

However, it would not be right for us not to say how much we enjoy staying at the Camelot. My husband and I travel to Clearwater frequently and, for the past 2 1/2 years, we have always stayed at the Camelot. We came across it surfing the internet trying to find a pet friendly hotel at Clearwater Beach. This place turned out to be perfect. Not only is it a pet friendly hotel, it is reasonably priced and the rooms are comfortable and CLEAN. Each room also has a kitchenette. I want to add that Vicky and Wendy have been working there the whole time. It's good to know you are going to a place that is operated by people you have come to trust and who always treat you right. I should also mention THIS HOTEL IS IN THE MIDDLE OF PARADISE..Clearwater Beach. One final note, it is next to a small quiet public park that is a perfect place to walk our dogs. :)

Room Tip: We have stayed in several of the rooms and they were all good.

Camelot is actually a time share hotel, so the rooms have a fully equipped kitchenette. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. and will lend you beach towels and folding chairs to take to the beach, which is a 3 minutes walk right down the street from the hotel. The hotel pool is heated and the general atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. It's not fancy but stay there for a few days and it will already feel like a second home. Loved it.

My boyfriend and I took our first vacation together in Clearwater Beach, FL last week. We stayed at the Camelot, where he has stayed before, for 5 nights. I'm telling you I can't say enough nice things about this place! I read a couple of the negative reviews and I think it's a shame. First of all, the best thing about the Camelot are the ladies that work there - Vicki and Wendy. Helpful, friendly, nice and fun are just a few of their great qualities.

We rented a car but didn't need it for our time in Clearwater. The Camelot is walking distance from everything. The beach is across the street or you can walk a little bit to be near Pier 60. There is a party store, gas station and laundry mat within feet of the hotel. Clearwater's best restaurants and bars are just a few minutes walk. We really like Frenchy's Rockaway, Cooters and Crabby Bills. They all have awesome food not to mention great specials for happy hour.

Our room was nice and cozy and clean. The bed was comfy and it was great to have a kitchen with a fridge in the room. Anything we needed, Wendy and Vicki were right there to help us out. The hotel was sold out during our stay yet we had a peaceful and quiet environment the whole time.

So don't listen to those negative reviews - the Camelot is great and we will be back for our next vacation.

Thanks Vicki and Wendy!

Room Tip: I would pick a room with a tub as the shower stalls are a little tight for leg shaving. :)

Camelot is a great little art deco hotel just steps from beautiful Clearwater Beach. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The courtyard pool area is inviting, and never a noise problem even with families or children present. Camelot attracts diverse guests and is within walking distance of some of the area's best casual and fine dining restaurants.

From my first contact with Vicki, everything was just perfect! Her friendly and out-going personality made us feel like family. The accommodations at the Royal Camelot were clean, welcoming and economical. We were offered extra towels and toiletries daily. The hospitality is second to none. We will definitely stay at the Roayl Camelot again!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with these condos. Good quality! Good value!

Stayed @ the Camelot for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday music fest (Oct 14 - 17, 2011). We didn't know whether to stay downtown (where the festival was being held) or near the beach. We were really looking for a place just to lay our heads down at night. So glad we decided to stay near the beach! Had the best of both worlds! The Camelot was in walking distance to everything we needed (fantastic food, wonderful drinks, live music, sports bars, shopping, etc.) and then we took the Jolley Trolley (LOVE that ride) to the music festival downtown (only $4.50/person for an all day pass). Bus stop was right across the street from the Camelot. We were with another couple (had separate rooms) and had no intention of cooking, but we did need a few groceries. There was a convenience store right next door to the Camelot with everything we needed. There's also a gas/convenience store across the street, but we never had to go there. There's also a really nice laundromat right next door to the Camelot, but we never had to go there either. Anyways, if you are looking for a clean, quaint place to stay you've found it. The only staff person we came in contact with was Wendy. We were only there for a short time, but made a life long friend :). ANYTHING you needed, I'm sure Wendy would have found a way to get it. We loved the way you could just walk right out your room and always find friendly people to converse with. Being from south Louisiana, we love meeting people. Others staying at the Camelot would just walk out their rooms and strike up a conversation.....just like that. Met people who come to the Camelot every year just because.....that says a lot. Didn't get to meet Vickie and didn't get to use the pool......so maybe next year :)

Room Tip: The only noise I ever heard was the front gates closing, but it wasn't too bad. If noise bother...
