We loved staying at the Camelot Beach Resort. We were there for a week in February and did not have time to fully explore the reviews as it was somewhat a last minute break. I love the 'Art Deco' motif! The room we rented was fully equipped with kitchen necessities and the room was very nice and spacious. Vickie was always inquiring of what we needed and I loved sitting around the pool and talking to various visitors. The location could not have been better. We either walked or took the trolley to various eatieries plus the beautiful beach was seen from the Resort and a 1 minute walk. We took our chairs but cabana and beach chairs are on the beach which can be rented. Hopefully we can return next year. Thanks Vickie.

This was our 5th visit to Clearwater with children and this is great specially with kids. We stayed twice at the Royal Camelot. The staff was always very friendly, welcoming and helpful to us and lend us beach towels, toys, umbrellas and folding chairs to take to the beach, which is a 3 minutes walk right down the street from the hotel. The hotel pool is heated and the general atmosphere is very friendly and it was mostly quiet, although the office is closed after 4 pm on most days and only reopens at 10 am the next day. The office manager is available after hours on her cell phone if you have any urgent matters after that. It's not fancy but we enjoyed staying here. Mainly because of the great location and helpfulness of the staff! We loved having a gorgeous beach (+2 very good beach bars/restaurants, 1 with life music every day) and the Dunkin' Donuts in gas station right across the street. There is also a laundromat next door. A very nice kid's playground at an adjacent public park is great for the children. Suites are remodeled with granite counter-tops, newer appliances and are non-smoking - which is great! The 2 suites we have stayed very individually, very nicely decorated. Pets are allowed and we've seen them both at the pool and on beds .... The bathrooms are very tiny. The beds in our last unit were a little squeaky, but that depends on the unit. The kitchen has the essentials and we enjoyed making our own breakfast and sandwiches at home. Publix is about a mile away, a convenience store is next door and CVS about 10 min. There are a lot of very nice restaurants near by - all walking distance. The pier is about 10-15 min walk. With little more space it would be perfect! Definitely would stay here again!

Room Tip: They are individually owned - so each room is furnished differently. Ask for pics and details before...

The outside looks kind of hokey, but the rooms are wonderful. They have taken two rooms and made suites. It's so clean... even in the corners. Just across the street from the beach. I'm sure we will be back.
Laundry mat next door and store. Duncan Donuts in gas station across the street.
Only downfall is parking is tight. But you are close enough to walk everwhere here!

Room Tip: Front rooms you can see the beach!

As a Tourism Director in Southern Illinois, I am always looking for new places to visit. My husband and I were looking for a quiet place close to the beach to unwind and we found this jewel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and cozy. Vicky and her staff were very helpful in pointing out great places to eat and shop. Having the pool as an alternate to the salt water was fantastic. My husband and I have already booked our vacation to Camelot for 2012 where we will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary and renew our vows. We couldn't think of a better place to be, or better people to share this with. Thanks to Vicky and Camelot for giving us the perfect place to enjoy the beach and each other.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the 1st floor because you could walk right out to the pool.

However, it would not be right for us not to say how much we enjoy staying at the Camelot. My husband and I travel to Clearwater frequently and, for the past 2 1/2 years, we have always stayed at the Camelot. We came across it surfing the internet trying to find a pet friendly hotel at Clearwater Beach. This place turned out to be perfect. Not only is it a pet friendly hotel, it is reasonably priced and the rooms are comfortable and CLEAN. Each room also has a kitchenette. I want to add that Vicky and Wendy have been working there the whole time. It's good to know you are going to a place that is operated by people you have come to trust and who always treat you right. I should also mention THIS HOTEL IS IN THE MIDDLE OF PARADISE..Clearwater Beach. One final note, it is next to a small quiet public park that is a perfect place to walk our dogs. :)

Room Tip: We have stayed in several of the rooms and they were all good.
