“Wonderful hotel resort”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

We stayed over the summer and loved it. They had our room ready when we arrived which was nice since we were traveling with our baby. The pool was very nice and outside grill had pretty good food. Beaches were nice and clean. The shops and restaurants around the resort were great. Very good breakfast food next door!! Highly recommend. The only thing we didn't like was the high resort fee.

Stayed here for a week in December and enjoyed the excellent service and high quality accommodations. Every detail is taken care of from the swift and friendly valet service to the complementary evening shoe shine. Some of the rooms have outstanding views over the beach and pools - my room looked out to the front of the property over the gardens and was also very peaceful with a good amount of sunlight during the day. Restaurant food in both the bars and restaurant was excellent and there are fantastic pineapple mojitos best enjoyed at the beach-side bar. Long walks on the beach are 100% recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the beach for a truly wonderful stay!

I was here for a conference - and it is a great location. Weather was very good, conference facilities were good and quite flexible and the food was very good.

During time off most of the attendees hung out at the pool and spa area which was excellent. I did also go and have a swim in the sea -- which I would highly recommend if you have the time.

Overall, really great place for a conference, enjoy it if you go to one here.

Sandpearl is a nice hotel with a very good location right on the beach, very close to highly rated restaurants in the area. We went there in November (thanksgiving week) hoping that we would still enjoy some nice weather but we were wrong. We couldn't enjoy the beach or the pool as we hoped. The hotel already has a premium price and on top of that, charges $25 a night service fee for beach towels, internet (not so great) and basic things like 2 bottles of water and coffee in the room. Parking also is extra ($20/night) and valet parking only. If you aren't enjoying the beach or the pool, you should consider if this extra cost is worth paying or not.

The hotel is generally clean, but housekeeping isn't great. The first night we stayed there, there was no shampoo (only body wash) in the bathroom. The shower was also not very clean, there were some nasty things on the shower tiles left over from previous guests.

Hotel is nicely decorated with nice artwork, we enjoyed the fire pit on the beach at night. The pool however is very small, don't let the pictures fool you.

We had a great time, room was clean, service exceptional, and the restaurants were outstanding. I went with my 9 year old daughter and the pool side service made her fancy drinks which she loved. They have kid friendly activities and the concierge was very helpful.

Room Tip: Get a gulf view room, it overlooks the pool and has spectacular sunsets

Attended a conference at the Sandpearl for the third time in four years. The location is lovely, the beach spectacular but there are some deficiencies.

Housekeeping: poor. A medicine bottle from the previous guest left on the floor near the window. Sticky stains found on the rug and upholstery; some kind of product found on the shower tiles; and dirty fingerprints on the doors. Staff coming in at 5:30pm to refresh the room and do nightly turn down, quite early as generally we had not even returned from the beach by then, or were relaxing prior to going for dinner when they came.

Valet: leave extra time to get your car. Twice we called ahead of time to have the car brought around. The first time, they brought the wrong vehicle. The second time the car was not there, only to be told it was “on it’s way”, meaning after we asked “where’s our car?” we observed an attendant running to get it.

Beach service: poor. This is clearly off-season, not particularly busy on the beach, so no reason for poor service. When we arrived at noon a server brought us drinks, said he would be by every 15 minutes or so. By 5pm we had yet to see him again. Fortunately it was not too far to get our own drinks. Tips are automatically added to the beach bill, obviously not much incentive to provide good service.

Room types/location. I understand that there are many room types here with many different views and generally you get what you pay for. At the very least, however, there is the expectation of relative quiet regardless of what room class you have. We were placed in room 459, which is quite possibly the single nosiest room at the resort. It is a corner room, right at the front corner of the resort across from the Clear Sky Cafe and kitty-corner to a bar that featured extremely loud live entertainment until 2am Friday and Saturday. Impossible to get any sleep until after that, and even then the rowdies had to clear out before there was any peace. We were then able to be moved to the other end of the building, which was certainly quieter, but with a view of Frenchy’s roof and garbage bins, and the sounds of trucks in the morning.

On a positive note, we found the food at Caretta’s and the Tate Island Grill to be tasty, and enjoyed the different types of beach cocktails at the beach bar. However, given the above observations, I’m not sure I would return here were I not attending a meeting. I think there is better value to be had elsewhere on the gulf coast.

Room Tip: Book a gulf facing room, or rooms on higher floors. The bay rooms are nice with the exception of th...

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us while visiting Clearwater. Please accept my sincere apologies for the issues you experienced. We normally get good reviews on our Housekeeping and Valet but that was not the case in this instance. I will speak with the Executive Housekeeper and Front Office Manager regarding your comments to try to find out what happened. Also, please accept my apology for the poor service you experienced at our beach. I will look into that as well.

While we do have restaurants in close proximity to our resort that have bands play, we have a good relationship with them and normally if their bands start getting too loud we call them and they adjust their volume. I will speak with the owner of those two establishments to communicate your concerns as well. Thank you for letting me know.

If I may be of any assistance please do not hesitate to let me know. If you would like to speak personally regarding your stay and feel it appropriate, please call me directly at the resort.

Again, thank you for the time in writing your review.

We only stayed there for one night before my long flight home. Impressive entrance way greeted us on arrival with lobby looking down to the white sand beach. Free internet, welcome drink -mimosa, free bottled water, coffee & tea with coffee pod machine. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, chocolate at turndown, very quite & relaxing.

What we liked best about the hotel was the service. The staff were helpful, cheerful and friendly. However, one bad apple can always spoil the bunch! We decided to spend the night in the hotel ground so we went to the bar/lounge in Caretta. Yes the bartender was polite and she made good mixed drinks and cocktails but we (and also other customers) had to wait very very patiently for another round of drinks because she was too busy socializing with a regular and there's no pause to get her attention. We finally decided to go to the bar accross the road.

Anyway, big credit to the staff who make your stay very enjoyable, especially Mike the concierge, the pool and room service staff. This is one of the best hotel in Clearwater Beach !When we come back to Clearwater, we will definitely stay here again.
