We checked in around 6 pm and was put into room 312, our view was an a/c unit on the roof of the main building, horrible. The pool was dirty and hot tub was very, very dirty. The room was decorated very well and bed was comfortable but we found hair on the night stands and in the sink. Don't plan on getting a good night sleep as you can hear doors slamming and people talking on the balcony.

We have just returned from a week at the Sheraton, and we would go back in a second. We spent the first week in Orlando so by the time we arrived in Clearwater we were ready to relax. The hotel was very good and the staff were second to none, we did not experience any bad service during our stay. Our room was really nice and overlooked the gulf, what a view!! We ate in the hotel each day and the food was of a very high standard and reasonably priced. Rusty's do a breakfast and evening buffet, both are excellent and our 4 year old daughter ate free!! The hotel is right on the beach and you can walk for miles, it was very beautiful. The heated pool was great our daughter spent almost the whole week in it. We cannot fault this hotel, and would definetely return in the future

What a wonderful hotel. My experience was great. Every single person I talked to here was friendly and willing to help. (including the housekeeping when I had to call them because I lost something the night before.) Willy, the poolman, was extremely a treat to visit with at the pool. EJ and Bobbie were great bartenders. All in all, what a pleasant experience and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

The location is prime. Great views of the Gulf and plenty of beach. Umbrellas and refreshments can be charged to the room which is convenient. The hotel is dated. My in-laws stayed there in 1976 so it's at least that old and the rooms and bathrooms are smaller than a more modern hotel. The walls are VERY thin. Noise kept us awake all night the first night. I requested to be moved and got the top floor which was better. Still thin walls though. Hallway noise is a problem. Doors have half-inch gap at bottom of each. For the price, I expected more.

My husband and i along with 12 friends stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort for the wedding of 2 of our friends, from 10th may -16th May 2009. We were greatly impressed with the hotel the minute we walked into the reception area. We arrived late at night very tired after travelling many hours from N.Ireland, and were greeted very wqarmely and friendly by the staff. We asked for a high floor room with a view of the sea if possible and we certainly were not disappointed. We got a 6th floor room overlooking the pool and the sea to the right.. The staff everywhere in the hotel were more than friendly and nothing was any trouble to them, we were surprised with so many people coming and going that the bell men were able to remember our names on each occasion we met them. The breakfast in Rusty's restaurant was fantastic as was the meals in the evening. After the wedding on 14th May we had a lovely reception and dinner also in Rusty's and the staff were fantastic..very attentive. The hotel and grounds were extremely clean, the location was fantastic, quiet and peaceful and i couldnt believe when i seen such white sand. Only drawback was that while we were there the heat was very intense and there were no umbrella's for shade between the loungers so made sunbathing very hard to stick. also we had to be careful in the water at the beach as there are loads of stingrays, we were told to shuffle our feet as we went through the sand, but our bride still got stung on her heel..very upsetting the day before her weddign. The pool staff were brilliant and got things under control very quickly..all in all we had a fantastic stay at the Sheraton and i would love to go back some day in the future.

We stayed her..May 1st-May4th...just to getaway..We took the super Shuttle back and forth to the airport... The Sheraton Sand Key was excellent....We first arrived there and ate luch at the Cafe..the waitress was extra friendly...food really good..Room was VERY nice....I asked for a King bed and they gave us one even though they were full..My husband booked late..so we didn"t know what we were getting...I'm so glad we stayed over in Sand Key...a little further to go( we took the Trolley back and forth if we wanted to go to the other side)..We walked thru the park next door every morning..and then ate at Maggie Maes across the street in the plaza for breakfast...most popular place for locals and tourists...we had at least 1/2-hour wait every time..WORTH IT!!!!!! Sand Key is very low-key..Loved it!!! Staff was excellent...no problems at all!!!At nite they has a welcoming in the dining /lounge..free appetizers from 5-7 p.m. We watched the Kentucky Derby there..anyway...The pool was excellent...the beach was excellent... everything was GREAT>>>>thanks Sheraton!!!!!!! a definite 5******** hotel..

We stayed at this hotel for a week, and enjoyed the large clean room, fantastic location (tropical graden, pool and great beach) and superb service. We had some minor hickups (our own fault) such as lost keys and a safe that wouldn't open, and all of them were taken care of by the hotel staff in a matter of minutes. Also the concierge service was really good, saving us loads of money on tours and giving directions.
The hotel has a little shop with everything you could possibly have forgotten to pack, which is also very nice.
The only thing which was somewhat disappointing was the fact that you had to pay additional fees for nearly everything. Internet was not free, and the (limited) gym was $7 per day. Also, the hotel advertises a private beach, but you had to pay $25 to get a chair and umbrella there, even as a hotel guest. For a hotel in this price range, that was highly disappointing.
