“Excellent Service, Excellent Room, Good Free Breakfast, Free WiFi, Not Expensive”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

Thank you Management for providing excellent service. The rooms (250&255) we booked were clean. It is in the middle of winter and guests were swimming in the heated pool. The free breakfast included, Bagels, Cereal (four kinds), milk, apples, bananas, Yogurt, Waffles, Bread, Cream Cheese, Strawberry jam, orange juice, apple juice, 4 kinds of tea variety, coffee, and more (see pictures). The rooms were cleaned, fragranced and swept daily. They rooms had refrigerators Microwave, Safe lock, , The bathrooms didn't have a spot of black or mildew, fresh painted bathrooms ( see pictures). Free Wi Fi plus free computer use in the lobby. We were met by a nice lady at the desk (Jessica) and she checked is in less than 5 minutes. A lady ( Pam) at the breakfast room cleaned the tables and took the plates off them once we were done eating. She made sure everything is staked up. The hotel price for the service, and rooms quality is excellent. I am not sure about the other rooms but the rooms we stayed in them were in excellent condition. The only comments i have is the breakfast room is so small compared to the number of guests and the breakfast tables are on wheels, so you can be chasing your plates on the moving tables ( they have no locks). Please keep up the good work. Thanks to Jessica, Pam, and Ann and the cleaning crew for providing the guests with this service. Please see pictures attached.

Pretty good value here. The rooms have tiled floors, which was a bit weird...but they are clean and comfortable. Heated pool. Great value.

Love this little gem. It doesn't look like much, but it's clean, basic lodging and the service is great. The front desk folks go above and beyond to be helpful. I had an 11 day stay there and got a terrible cold (unrelated to the motel!) and the desk clerk went into her breakfast juice supply to give me a huge cup of OJ.

The motel is dog friendly -- no fee rip off! And has a well-lighted grassy area right behind to take strolls and do business. There are baggies and a dumpster in easy reach. They've converted an old tennis court to a fenced doggie playground -- nice!

Two great restaurants within a 2 minute walk -- a Mexican place and the Twisted Kilt. Both very good and not expensive.

Even though the motel is right next to US Hwy 19, it's not noisy at all. Pool is cold, but Wi-Fi is lightening fast and totally reliable. They just updated the main server.

You won't be sorry to stay here if you aren't expecting luxury.

I was in Clearwater for the holidays for a couple of days. The positives were close to Clearwater Mall, and many other shops. Lenny's Restaurant for breakfast or lunch is always great and right next door, as well as a decent continental breakfast included in the room price. The cost for the room was very competitive as well.

The negatives were that the area is a little dicey--I was a little bit concerned about the safety of my vehicle. My room was clean but a bit run down, i.e. worn out comforter, rugs looking a bit worn, the a/c loud but cold. The pool area was also a bit run down, but clean. The biggest negative was the overall look of the outside hallways and stairs-- ever heard of a power washer and some paint??

My son & I stayed at the Travelodge at the beginning of October to attend a show at Ruth Eckerd Hall which I might add, was very close to the hotel & was extremely pleased. Our room was immaculate & newly remodeled. I'm the type of person that goes over the room with a fine-tooth comb & couldn't find an ounce of dust on anything. Bathroom was impeccable. Beds comfy & enjoyed the easy chair with ottoman. Definitely an A++ to housekeeping! They have Direct TV/many channels including HBO & ESPN which, in lower cost hotels, you don't usually get. My son enjoyed that feature. The free Bear Bites Breakfast was great! Plenty to choose from & not limited to bagels, danish(from Lenny's right next door), cereal, waffles, fresh fruit, etc., & all was fresh & was constantly being replenished. The great hospitality received was also a big plus in my book! Hotel is located on US 19 but, didn't hear a peep from traffic. I felt very safe & secure in the surroundings & was very quiet at all times. They have a beautiful lush landscaped resort style pool area which, unfortunately, didn't have time to utilize the pool due to staying a short time. Pool was very clean. Also have BBQ grills on premises. Plenty of parking & in well lit lot. To some it all up, you can't beat the price for all the amenities & how well Travelodge takes pride in making your trip away from home a memorable experience. As you can tell, I was very happy with our stay & it is nice to see that there are still people out there that take pride in their work which, unfortunately, you don't see much of now a days. Will be returning to the Travelodge in February when my mom & I attend a show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. I would not even think of going elsewhere & would highly recommend the Travelodge to everyone! If you are visiting Clearwater & want a great place to stay & you don't have to break the budget to do so, look no further, Travelodge is your place!!! Thanks Travelodge for making us feel right at home. Sincerely pleased customer, Mary P.S. See you in February!

Room Tip: I prefer 2nd floor rooms poolside. A/C is quieter & don't have to worry about people walking...

We came for 3 nights to Clearwater on our roundtrip through Florida.
We booked this hotel based on the reviews on tripadvisor and ofcourse, the great price.

When we checked in everything looked fine. Not spectacular but you can't expect that for such a low price. The room was pretty clean but dark and old. But the first night was ok.

The second day the kids spent about an hour in the pool and they come out with a lot of rash.
Also there where a lot of (dead) bugs in the pool. I can understand that you cannot clean the pool 24 hours a day but this was more than I ever saw in the pool.
The rest of the property also seemed very outdated and should really get an update very soon.

After 2 nights we decided to check out early and head to Orlando 1 day before scheduled, mainly because the whole family got a little depressed by this hotel.

Location is excellent but next time we will take another hotel.

We are so sorry to hear you had a poor experience at our hotel, we have good reviews because we take pride in ensuring our guests have a pleasant stay and we always try to exceed those expectations. Our pool is contracted to a third party company and we strongly feel they are one of the best in Clearwater (took 3 companies to find them) I will pass on your issues and they will ensure that it does not happen again in the future. Florida does have a love bug problem in late spring but they are harmless and I know they did not cause any irritation. If you return to Clearwater please contact me directly so we can show you why Travelodge Clearwater is a great place to stay. Thank you for your feedback and we will use it to make this a better place.
