“Best value on the strip”
Reviewed 19 November 2012

This is not the first time I have stayed here and they have proved to be consistently wonderful. Beds are nice, rooms are newly remodeled, pet friendly rooms are the nicest and very very clean, the service is beyond great and the owner Kelly can't be nicer. The rates are more than reasonable, the free wifi in the room never fails and the cont. breakfast is a bonus. You just simply can't lose when you stay here.

i feel i have to give my honest review of this place, seeing as i really feel like the other reviews are a bit misleading as to the quality of the hotel. Im no where near a hotel snob and i will give credit where it is due. I am a 35 year old mother of 2. i traveled with my husband and kids on this "budget weekend". We had recently stayed in a two star hotel in tampa that was so amazingly nice we decided to give 2 stars another try. apparently two stars vary greatly!!

We stayed at this hotel 2 nights this weekend. construction didnt seem to be in our way, its up on the highway but not the road the hotel is on. Our room was located directly above the breakfast room, and i was immediately struck by how tiny it seemed. more like a small square instead of a usual rectange longer shape. anyway, the beds were quite small full sized, not queen they are hard and unforgiving.old style headboards, wall lamps. we removed the polyester coverlet as we always do in hotels that have those, and the velour blanket underneath had several holes on each bed. the sheets were clean and white. pillows are tiny and flat, we brought our own.

bathroom seems modernized-newer tile etc. giant cockroach dead in toilet and droppings left on the seat. (i know they tend to be everywhere, but it wasnt the best first impression). overall the room was clean besides that, but very dated. things had been painted over several times-the doors etc. three towels seemed like an odd choice. why not two, or four?

parking on the left side of the hotel, where we were located is interesting, as there is a popular breakfast spot right next door, and they seem to share a parking lot. people from the restaurant had parked in every spot so we had to lug our stuff from across the lot instead of right in front of the building. also, several shady people walking around the downstairs hallway. we went to get ice and i had several men walk through the breezeway where the icemaker is, and i was uncomfortable being alone.i refused to let my 13 year old son outside even to get something out of the car without myself or husband watching.. the ground outside the rooms and walkways is incredibly unkempt, lots of little trash, gum stuck to the ground etc.

our kids were desperate to try the pool, even tho it was a little chilly-and it actually is a bright spot at the motel, there are several covered areas, the pool is large and clean (unheated, at least while we were there). there is a gas grill, lounges etc. the only negatives here were the pool deck needs resurfacing-my husband hurt his foot stumbling on a chunk of cement that had crumbled away.

the breakfast was a nice addition. kids had waffles and cereal. they provided yogurts and fruit too. no complaints.

i was not expecting anything luxurious, just something clean and simple with breakfast and wifi. this place provided most, but i cannot imagine why so many folks were so thrilled. there are too many modernized motels around even on the same street, for this place to be so dated. i have booked several 2 star places that i was so happy with, unfortunately this is a place i will not look to return to.
