We really enjoyed our stay here.

While the hotel itself is not new, the rooms are well furnished with comfortable bedding. Of course the real reason to come is the beach which is really great. It was great with the kids to walk of the beach and into the room for naps and such. We also liked the variety of restaurants in walking distance of the hotel as parking and traffic can be a bit of a pain, especially on the weekend.

Outside of a really small number, most of the gulf-view rooms overlook parts of the restaurant and meeting rooms with the view of the pier blocked by part of the hotel, so I'm not sure I'd pay extra for that type of room. Harborview rooms seem to look over the swimming pool and towards the harbor area and if you get lucky, on of these on a tall floor might be a better bet.

The breakfast buffet was great with either a continental or hot option, with the hot option giving you access to eggs, bacon, pancakes and omelettes to order. Our breakfast was free due to my Hilton status so I'm not sure what the cost would be.

Amazingly depending on what you ordered, the hotel restaurant was not dramatically overpriced compared to the near by restaurants.

We only went in one of the swimming pools as they did get crowded and like many resorts it's where the more obnoxious people hang out. That said the pool was good and clean.

The things to be aware of at this hotel is that they do charge for parking and they have a resort fee which I dislike paying, to me if there's a mandatory fee like this, just make the room rate more expensive to reflect those costs instead of doing a bait and switch.

Overall we were very happy and will return.

Had a lovely trip at the hotel in May. The location of the hotel is superb - the beach is amazing with beautiful white sand and clear water, You can see both little fish and much bigger ones, and if lucky, will get to swim with the dolphins and watch them feed,

The hotel is busy at the weekends and parking may be difficult, although we had a disabled badge so were given priority, but there is no discount from any parking charges, which are quite steep. The rooms are small but the staff are continuously trying to keep the decor clean and fresh and we saw the corridors and rooms being painted whilst we were there. We had a disabled accessible room which was not very accessible on arrival but after discussion with guest services and some furniture rearranging, become quite functional although closet and drawer space left something to be desired.

Wifi is intermittent - worked every day but had to be refreshed each time you opened the internet on your phone or iPad etc. Didn't work around the pool though - only in the hotel building although I believe that those on Hilton Honors basis had a better service.

The pools are both lovely, back on to the sand dunes and are within easy reach of the Sand bar and towels are provided. Rails provide assistance for the less mobile and one pool has a pool hoist for easy transfer in. The only time that it was difficult to find a sunbed, was on the weekends, one of which was a public holiday. Then, you have to get up early to put towels on - some people did this and then failed to appear all day! The poolside waiters and waitresses worked very hard and were lovely. Prices for drinks and food were a little steep, although very enjoyable.

For those who do not like to eat in one place all the time, there are several restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Food is similar in most but our favourite was Hooters across the road. Be prepared for a lot of noise quite late, especially as our room faced the Gulf and the Marina. The pier has music quite late on the weekends and the street entertainers generate a lot of crow noise. The view is hard to beat however.

We found all members of staff extremely polite and friendly and all went the extra mile to help us as my husband is in a wheelchair most of the time. A special thanks to Erin Munroe, Security Manager who helped me get my husband into the sea via her jeep and made the holiday that bit extra special although the dolphins couldn't quite make out his three-pronged walker )(maybe they thought he was Neptune!).

The other faciities include the Coasters coffee bar (serves Starbucks coffee is that's your thing), restaurant, small gift shop, beach shop, small gym and self-service (coin operated) laundry. Of course, the hotel also offers the usual rom-service, in-room movies etc and guest laundry service. Parking offers both self parking and valet parking.

We had a fabulous time and can't understand why there are so many complaints about the place.
Other than the steep 'resort' charge, which I think is unnecessary bearing in mind the cost of the food, drink, etc, I feel that the hotel is excellent.

Room Tip: If you have a problem, speak to guest service and they will do their utmost to help. We travelled w...

Hotel is in great location. Don't miss the nightly "Sunset Festival" at Pier 60 next to hotel. Food in the area is great! We rented bikes. No charge and great area for bike riding. Beach is great and the water was warm for an ocean. My wife and I had a wonderful time!

We are frequent travelers and the Hilton Clearwater Beach is our top choice to stay at in Florida. It is located in the heart of Clearwater Beach close to all the action near the pier. The staff is friendly and efficient. The hotel itself is well maintained and recently updated. Brian Ander, the Director of Front Office, has rolled out the red carpet for us each time we visit which is at least twice a year. The beach is spotless with attendants who can't do enough for you. Our family looks forward to returning soon!!

There is no more I could say about the location than is already posted. Our room was well located by the elevator, and on the street side. It could have been noisy, but we were on the 8th floor, so the street noise did not bother us. We were right near the street side elevator which was very convenient for walking down Mandalay.

The rooms are horribly dim. Awful lighting for reading, makeup etc. The water pressure was terrible. The convenience electrical outlets on the lamps did not work. And, the rooms are expensive, made more so by the mandatory resort fee.

The pools are tiny, and pool seating inadequate for the size of the hotel.

My guess is that they can get away from not attending to much needed improvements because of the tolerance of the guests who love the location.

Room Tip: We did like being on the street side, near the "convention center" elevator. Easy in and...

You can't fault the location of this hotel, right on the beach. However what you can fault is the following. Check in is from 4pm but our room wasn't ready until 5:15! We had two rooms booked and were not given adjacent rooms although requested. The rooms are VERY small for American hotel rooms, the week previous we stayed at the Hilton Marco island, and the same room type was MUCH bigger!! The pool is very small, luckily the beach is so close. You have to pay for beach loungers and umbrellas, you only get the towels for free. At check in there is an additional resort fee charge which covers Wi-fi, this had been free in other Hilton hotels!

Our apologies your check in was later than we offer. Upon availability we are able to accomodate our guests with their requests, and although we try hard, it may not be possible. Sorry we did not. meet your expectations, as all properties are fashioned differently. We do have two pools facing theGulf of Mexico and steps from the hotel. Our Beach service has chairs , umbrellas etc. for rent too, as a private service provides this amenity. Thank you for being our guests and sharing your experience with us.

Hotel is in need of upgrading, but the same as Blackpool Hilton in the UK has made up for it by the PERFECT location right on the white sands of Clearwater beach. The restaurant was poor, rooms small, aircon noisy.

PROS - Location - right on the beach
- 2 small pools and a hot tub (for those from the UK hot tub is hotter than a bath!)
- inclusive pool towels
- secluded beach - but beware very expensive sun beds
- pc/printer to print airline boarding passes - for free!

CONS - Room was small, more like a travelodge room in the UK
- The aircon was noisy and very old fashioned, like the aircon through the wall type of the 70's style
- On site restaurant is poor - very expensive and very slow. We went to restaurant which was only about a fifth full, had to wait over an hour for our meal to arrive, had to ask for drink refills!! go to Dennys, applebee's, TGI fridays - anywhere else and get great service, but not here at this hilton, this is NOTHING like the service we get at the Hilton at gatwick airport in the UK which is amazing
- no children's activities or play room
- car park not large enough for number of guests as they allow tourists to park as well
- restaurant and restrooms (toilets) were extremely cold - make sure you take a fleece for dinner!
- Very expensive for what you get, Hilton are so playing on the location, shame on you Hilton, spend some money and give this hotel an upgrade!!!

In summary, if you can afford it, stay and accept its not great, but location.... or stay 4 miles away, pay a fifth of the price and drive in and park in the hilton car park!

Room Tip: we had a coast room which had a good view
