“Very nice staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

On 6/25/14, we decided that we would visit Clearwater Beach and made a reservation at the Quality Hotel. As we were driving into the area of Clearwater Beach, it was packed with people!! It was also very hot! When we arrived at the Quality Hotel, we had asked for a room on the 4th or 5th floors. The only room they were able to give us was on the second floor right above the pool, no view of the short area of beach. We walked into the room, did not like it and went down to talk with Chris at the front desk. He was so very nice and understanding when we told him, this area just was not for us and we did not want to stay. We were refunded our money and moved on! The hotel is okay, nothing fancy, but nice. Very family oriented, lots of kids, which we have no younger ones! Thanks Chris we appreciate you being so nice!

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. There is an IHOP adjoining and the pool is literally on the beach. Only issues were the noisy aircon and the fact the room wasn't properly hoovered; found a few (cringe worthy) nail clippings and wrappers on the carpet that put us off a little.

We visited this hotel in June on a family trip (my husband and I and our two boys ages 13 & 9). We arrived on a Sunday and stayed through Wednesday. The hotel was older, but very clean and the staff was very friendly. We had read the reviews about the boats in the water and found it to be true on the weekend. When we arrived on Sunday there were so many boats anchored in the water that there was not room to swim. Also, the pool was so packed you couldn't get in it. It looked like the pool bar and pool were opened up to locals and anyone else not staying there. We chose to go across the street to play mini golf instead which was nice. We were worried about the pool and beach for the rest of our stay, but Monday-Wednesday the pool and beach were not crowded. It was more family friendly and quiet. Overall this hotel met our needs: Cleanliness, comfort and lower price. If you're looking for something with extra amenities or something fancy this is not the hotel. It is a simple place. It was close enough to walk to Pier 60 (about 10-15 minutes). We ate at Gondoliers across the street and it was fantastic for dinners. On Wednesday morning we ate at the hotel IHOP and it took forever. Food was good, waitress was friendly, but service was extremely slow. Breakfast took at least one hour and thirty minutes. We had a nice stay here. We didn't hang out at the hotel very much- mini-golf and Pier 60 one evening, visited sand key park for a day, Busch Gardens another day, and ate out most of the time. Overall, this hotel was not too bad. Our advice would be to not go on a weekend and ask for a quiet room away from the pool.

Arrived with no reservation for two night stay. We had been involved in an auto accident just prior to arrival and were very upset. Chris Jones (at the front desk) was very compassionate and understanding and went above and beyond in restoring us to a state of calm providing us with excellent customer service and a great room geared for relaxation!
Employees like Chris are instrumental in customers coming back again and again.
We will use this hotel on all future visits to Clearwater Beach!

This was my first time visiting Clearwater. I usually go to Destin and stay in a condo vs the hotel thing. This experience was....different. The room and the view was gorgeous. We stayed in a corner suite on the fifth floor and my 4 year old loved watching the boats sailing by. We did the pirate cruise and that was certainly worth the money. We were able to wave to family members that had stayed behind at the hotel because the ship sails by. I know it says it's a short 15 min walk to that area, but let me put this in perspective. 15 mins is roughly one mile..... one way. After walking around and being in the hot sun, the walk back to the hotel was a LONG one. I had to carry my littlest one piggyback because she was exhausted. That's just an FYI, I didn't dock the hotel for that. The pool seems pretty small and the "beach area" left a lot to be desired. It felt more like what you get at a public lake vs the pretty public beach that was across from the pirate ship. The elevators were always crowded, but then again it seemed like the place was booked. The bartender next to the pool area was friendly and quick to serve. He never gave me a bad drink. I was relieved that even though we had arrived prior to check-in, we were able to go ahead and park. Also, we were able to leave after check-out time, so that was nice. If I come back to Clearwater, I'm not sure I would stay here again as I think I would prefer a more private beach. The place wasn't bad, just not for me.

The hotel bedrooms are clean and well maintained. Facilities consists of two comfortable queen beds, bathroom with shower, shower, toilet and hair dryer. Also TV, microwave, refrigerator with a table and two chairs.
Ihop restaurant has a limited menu with, it seems, pancakes served with everything!. Service is very good with friendly staff and the 55 plus menu good for breakfast.
However, the small pool area is very crowded and the beach seems to be a landing point for jet skiers and other small boats making it noisy. Also the chairs and umbrellas are chargeable, 20 USD even though the charge can be routed through the hotel billing system! Why should you pay to sit on the beach attached to the hotel.
There is a very small lobby area, hardly any restrooms for easy access and the only bar is beach side with the inevitable pounding of the bass on the loudspeaker system.
The trolley service runs from outside the hotel and each ride is 2 USD, 1USD for 65 plus. Day tickets are good at 4.5 USD for all day. Takes nearly 2hours and a number of changes to get to the Dali museum in St Petersbergh. If taking this trip do not get off at Williams Park as drugs etc abound.

Whilst stayed at the hotel for four nights would not really recommend as the hotel seems to lack a certain overall pleasant atmosphere. Staff are friendly but the lack of a lounge and bar spoils the overall feeling.

We only stayed one night, but had a very pleasant experience. Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the pool and beach. Beautiful view! I love that it was very easy to get to the beach from our room. If you forgot something, it was not a big deal to go back to the room to get it. I was surprised there wasn't a free breakfast. I think this was the first Choice Hotel I've stayed in without a breakfast. We got IHop to go and brought it back up to the room. Our room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. We were also able to get a late check out (2:00 with Elite Platinum status) which is always nice. There is a $10 charge for parking, but we didn't have a car. Speaking of, you really don't need a car. You can take a cab from PIE to the hotel for about $35 and then take the trolley around town. The stop is right outside the door! It is a little ways from the "main action", but close to Shepherds which has entertainment. There are a few shops, restaurants ( and ice cream shop and a Subway, too) and attractions (mini-golf) within walking distance. The day staff was nice and much more professional than the night staff. In fact the person at the front desk even cussed in front of us. We actually encountered this at a few places we visited on this trip. Maybe it's a Florida thing? We are from the mid-west, and it's pretty shocking to hear an employee cuss in a business setting. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
