I found an offer for this hotel on Living Social for two nights at a very reasonable rate. I was looking for a place in Clearwater Beach to stay for a weekend getaway with my Girlfriend. With some of the reviews were a bit negative and limited photos on the website,I had some trepidation.
We arrived around 9 pm to find a group of 8 to 10 people waiting to check in, which turned out to be a result of a printer issue, and there were only about 3 reservations checking in from that crowd, so once things got moving it went quick.
Our reservation was for one of the suites which is located across the side street from the main building. Parking spaces were at a premium, but it was still a short walk to our room. Right outside our door which was on the ground floor at the end of the building, was a small table with two chairs, nice for sitting and enjoying the evening, or having a smoke if that's your thing. Across from out room was a nice little grassy area with picnic tables and a barbecue grill.
Upon entry we found a good sized living area with a TV in a free-standing bookshelf stile cabinet, a sofa-bed (which we never opened), coffee table, a small dinette, full sized refrigerator, sink, plenty of cabinets containing a limited supply of kitchen ware, plates, flatware, etc.
Our suite had two full size beds in a separate bedroom which had the obligatory dresser, flat-screen TV and night stand. The bathroom was a good size with a tub/shower combo and a modern sink and counter top. There's also a nice size walk-in closet off of the bedroom.
The Down side: The building is located in a Peninsula between two streets, so you're VERY close to traffic, something to consider with smaller children, however, there was no problem with traffic noise inside the room. The living area was all white with limited decoration, there's no stove or cook-top, just a microwave. The air conditioning unit in the living area, and the window unit in the bedroom ran continuously. As noted in another review: the mattresses on the bed were not the most comfortable, a little lumpy, but far from torturous. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so it's totally fogged up after a shower. The shower head had a stream of water leaking out of the side as though it wasn't installed properly, or it was about to fly off. None of there issues were much more than a minor inconvenience; we weren't expecting The Hilton.
The Suite building has its own pool which is a short walk from all the rooms, and is just steps away from an Ice Cream Shop (as of this writing). There were plenty of umbrella-shaded tables and lounge chairs. As a matter of note: the pool is right next to the roadway, so there will be some traffic noise while you're relaxing in the sun.
Like all hotels in the area, you're within walking distance from everything: bars, clubs, restaurants, the pier..etc. I only moved my car to park closer to our room.
Over-all we enjoyed our stay, we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room other than sleep, shower, change clothes and keep ,the beer cold, so it served its purpose, and we would defiantly come back and bring the kids (there's room for 6 to sleep)
