Due to a quaint and unorthodox High School graduation reunion - for Cocoa High School Class of '65 graduates who turned 70! - we spent three days in June in the Cocoa/Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach area and spent them at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites at 301 Tucker Lane in Cocoa at the southwest corner of S.R. 520 and I-95.
PROS - Possibly best beds ever! Had a great sleep and awakened quite refreshed all 3 mornings.
The FREE breakfast had one of the better - if not the best - and most varied layouts we've encountered in our travels in 22 states!
The entire staff was magnificent!
MINOR CONS - Toilet too low for some seniors and no handicap bar to hold onto.
No safe for valuables in the room.
MAJOR CON - My wife was quoted $152 a night on the phone but we were charged $146.71 for the first night and $183.67 for the next two nights (Friday and Saturday). The total bill for $514.05 included $22.95 of 'bed/occupancy tax'.
WE SHOULD HAVE BOOKED THROUGH TRIP ADVISOR!!!!! Learned my lesson.More
