“We thought this was fine”
Reviewed 13 March 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was fine. Rooms was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels and shower was fine. Room had a pool view. We sat down at the pool a couple of times and there were loungers and tables and chairs. Breakfast was the usual motel fare but fine with fresh fruit and yoghurts, hot items, yoghurt etc. Owner was very helpful. Is about 6 miles from Cocoa Village and shopping and cinemas at Merritt Square.

I booked this room with hesitations as I read the other negative reviews online. But from the time we checked in to the check out I was delightfully surprised. The room rivaled any older Holiday Inn I've stayed in. Check in was smooth, front desk personnel was informative. Our room was nice and clean with many amenities not afforded by lesser hotel brands. Free wifi and even better, easy connection to plugs where many retrofit hotels don't have. (I've had to unplug lamps and move dressers to get to open outlet previously.) We had clean guest laundry facilities and the pool area was clean and inviting.
The next morning we went over to check out the breakfast as we're quite the fans of Waffle House and were torn on where to go. Well, the breakfast was quite good! Cereal, oatmeal, bagels muffins toast etc. even a fresh pancake maker!! My boyfriend had biscuits and gravy with sausage patties. Eggs were also available as was all your juices, coffee, yogurt and more. Why spend more than you need on an overrated breakfast. This was more than enough to get you going in the morning.
There were just a few issues that I had. The tub was slow draining but didn't hinder my opinion, just needs attention. The TV was on a dresser stand and would be better viewed mounted higher on a wall. The bed is quite high and basically level with he bottom of the TV. Its difficult to see when lying in bed. Again, not a deal breaker. And, it did have full cable, not the scaled down version many hotel chains offer.
The bed was firm, pillows plentiful, room nice and AC cold, dresser, fridge with microwave, "business center" includes table and lamp with outlet in the base. Most of all nice clean. I did hear the highway occasionally but was not a factor in my sleep.
If you're looking for value for your dollar and don't mind driving a little further to the attractions, this is THE place to stay.

Room Tip: Park near the hallway if you have lots of luggage or get a rolling valet. If total quiet is required...

The staff, appearance and cleanliness of hotel was excellent-all amenities were provided, very attractive decor in Lobby and the pool area and rooms BUT this survey is much too long - we found the owner to be extremely helpful, with the name of an excellent local restaurant & a much needed car wash..

This is a letter I have sent to head office and one similar directly to the manager of the BW Cocoa Inn. Please know from the beginning that we enjoyed this hotel enough in the past to stay again. We just hadn't expected the incidents that happened during this stay.
"My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Cocoa Inn in Cocoa Florida on Friday January 24 & Saturday January 25, 2014 in room 158.
We have stayed in this hotel in the past and because of that stay we chose to stay again for our visit to Florida in 2014.
However, this past stay was less than desirable!
We checked in to room 158 Friday evening and had no issues.
However, on Saturday late afternoon and evening we noticed an abundance of problems.
In rooms 157, 159 & 160 there seems to be extended guests.
There was a great deal of cars coming and going from these rooms.
Cars would pull up in front of room 160 and enter, after a few minutes those cars would leave. We witnessed as many as 6 cars an hour, coming and going but only staying a few minutes each time. Then a skinny male would walk from room 160 to room 157 then return to room 160 were more cars would come and go in an hour's time. This continued well into the early morning hours.
Then at about 2 or 2:30 AM, a very big man with a goatee shows up driving a Buick and enters room 160 using a room access card.
When he enters the room an argument starts between a female who was already in the room and him.
All you could hear was them yelling at each other and a lot of swearing! The argument lasted for over 2 hours!
Needless to say we got very little sleep on the Saturday night/Sunday morning.
The whole ordeal was quite disturbing and made us very afraid for our safety.
My husband firmly believes that the occupants of rooms 157, 159 & 160 are involved in illegal activities. Thankfully the only thing missing was the sounds of gun shots. Upon check out on Sunday morning we spoke with staff members about the incidents.
I should have called to the front desk during the disturbance or the Sherriff's department but was honestly too afraid to.
Unfortunately due to this, my husband and I will not return to this hotel in the future. It's most unfortunate because we really enjoyed our stay in the past and have even given a great review on trip adviser."
This is a wonderful hotel but if you choose to stay here ask first if they have any extended stay guests and where they are located. Also ask to be in the first building opposite side of the truck stop or in the south building. When we stayed the first time (2013) we were in the south building and we had no issues! Stay has been wonderful both times.

Room Tip: Ask if they have extended guests. Ask not to be put anywhere near them. Ask to be in the first buil...

We were very impressed with the "wlecoming spirit" of the front desk personnel. The costs of staying here is very reasonable. The rooms are of a nice size; they are clean and well maintained. The breakfast, while not being fancy, is adequate and is included in the price of the room.

I stayed here with my husband while he worked a contract job in Cocoa, and most of the time it was quiet. On the weekends, however, they sport a pub/lounge, and the noise and loud music of that carries through the hotel and goes on till late. Other than that, the rooms were big, clean and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Good breakfast bar, too. And 2 conveniently located restaurants next door and across the street. I would definately stay here again. And the truck stop next door didn't even bother us.
