We stayed here for one night before leaving on a cruise. It was perfect, within walking distance of the pier, and the oceanfront view was amazing. Also they let us park our car for free during our cruise and the shuttle to the cruise was only 5 bucks per person. I wish we could have stayed at the hotel longer it was so enjoyable.

Located on the beach, near several steak and seafood restaurants and pubs. Excellent location for watch rocket launches from you room. I could see the cruise ships docked in Port Canaveral. Kennedy Space center only 30 minutes away by car.
Room was large (on the 6th floor). Laminate flooring, which was good because the sand clung to my feet, but not so warm in the AM. At least we weren't walking in someone else's dirt. Good size balcony, but be aware that it is easy to hop between adjacent balconies. Keep your patio door locked when your not out there. Windows are single glazed so you will hear the noise from the ocean, the water fall (water feature by the pool), and yes, the band from the near by bar on the pier. However, of the 4 nights we were here, the band only played one night. There is no room safe, really, in this day and age, but there is a microwave, and a bar fridge (empty). Standard amenities in the rooms, flat screen TV etc., Front desk staff were awesome. Very helpful and polite, even at 03:30 AM when we checked out (early flight out of Fort Lauderdale). Included breakfast was adequate with waffles, scramble eggs or omelets on alternating mornings. Sausage or bacon, as well as the usual cereals, yogurts and fruit.
The pool seemed warmer than normal, and never had more than a few people around it. There is a bar at the pool but it is only open seasonally. Easy private access to the beach. Beautiful water feature between the lobby and the pool with lots of shrubs and a few tables and chairs. Kinda gives the feeling that your sitting in a rain forest. If your room is on the side with the water feature, it sounds like light rain, all night.
Lots of free parking. Easy walking distance to a strip mall (grocery and liquor store), beach supply shop and a gas station (rental car fill up). Would stay here again, even though the building is older, it appears the rooms have recently been upgrade or at least painted.

Room Tip: Be specific when asking for a room facing the ocean, there is some ambiguity in the hotels descripti...

I stayed in this hotel for one night to take the Disney Drean on next day in Port Canaveral.
I have had in others La Quinta, but this one surprise positively, very clean, well maintained, a excellent attendant, a very good breakfast, have not carpet which I find very good for a beach hotel.
Hotel just in front of the beach, no street between hotel and beach, very close to the pier of Cocoa Beach, very good location.
Do not be surprised to wake up in the morning and see the dogs in the parking lot. This hotel accepts pets, in the morning the owners leave them to our needs.
Despite having much pet in hotel I not hear any barking or bad smell because of it.
Excellent highly recommend it, not only for overnight, but for large period, Cocoa Beach was a pleasant beach, and this hotel was in best location.

I rarely complain about front desk service. I usually find that overworked and underpaid employees treat people about as nicely as they are treated. However, I am sad to say that we dealt with two people at check-in and both encounters left my husband and I with a sour taste in our mouth. First, upon arrival at 2 pm we were behind another couple who were allowed to check-in, yet we weren't. We were told our room wasn't ready and that check-in was 4 pm. Given that it was chilly outside this was disappointing. We asked if we could at least do our paperwork, but no, they didn't even know what room we would be in. I had a strange feeling - based on the reaction of the clerk when looking up our reservation - that perhaps our booking on a discount website was supposed to put us in a certain "type" of oceanfront room. The clerk said if we gave our phone number we would be called when our room was ready. We did, but never received a call. We went back at 4 pm and were once again in line behind others who were allowed to check in (on higher floors). We had a different clerk this time and were assigned a room on the 2nd floor. We had walked around the property already and noted that most 1st floor oceanfront rooms actually wouldn't be able to see the ocean at all because of the sand, and some 2nd floor options were also iffy because of foliage. We kindly asked if we could be put on a higher floor so that we would have a better oceanfront view and were met with an extremely rude response from the clerk, who after giving me a couple of comments that are best not mentioned here, finally moved us to a room on the 4th floor. I thought it might have just been me and perhaps I was a bit sensitive to her comments only to have my calm and easygoing husband remark to me, "Boy, she was a bit snippy, wasn't she?" after we were handed our keys (with no "thank you" or "enjoy your stay", etc.). Unfortunately, this did sour our experience with the hotel and we certainly weren't going to ask for helpful hints on places to eat, etc. Our room was fine, recently updated and a great view of the oceanfront. We had a microwave and mini-refrigerator, which was appreciated. The free breakfast was excellent - scrambled eggs, sausage and toast. The clerk on duty in that area was extremely helpful and pleasant, which we appreciated. However, we have stayed other places before in Cocoa Beach with excellent service from all staff and will likely stay elsewhere next time because of the front desk service - and the strange feeling I received from both clerks we encountered that our "discount" stay might have had something to do with what room location we were supposed to be assigned to............

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor or higher to get the best views of the ocean.

Please accept our sincerest apologies regarding your recent experience here at the LaQuinta. All of our guests are of great importance to us, your form of payment is just not a factor. Please understand that we do have guests that arrive very early as they are coming off cruise ships, this could be why you saw other guests get checked in while you experienced a wait. Again our apologies. In addition we have several different room types so it may have been that your room type was not yet available. I was glad to see that we were able to accomodate you with the higher floor. In the event that you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me direct. I look forward to hearing from you,
Sincerely,
Alison

We had a wonderful stay @ this hotel...due to several travelling issues we didn't get in until about 11:00 pm and Lorrie greated us just as cheerfully as if it was 6:00 pm. She also assisted us above & beyond what was needed to get our situation resolved ( we had a vehicle issue). The room was WONDERFUL..lots of room and the balcony was great. We would definitely recommend this hotel & would love to go back & stay longer

This is our 2nd annual December get-a-way here and we were not disappointed. The staff are always pleasant, the hotel grounds and rooms are always clean and the amenities are nice. We enjoy the breakfast here because, unlike some other LQ's, this one includes hot food. My partner and I always feel welcome, unlike other places that are not LGBT friendly. We wanted to extend our stay. We had to change rooms and they were very willing and helpful to make that happen. Thank you again for a fabulous get-a-way and we’ll see you 12/2014!

One note: It is a pet friendly hotel – so be mindful. If you don’t like dogs or have severe allergies this isn't the place for you.

Room Tip: We always get an oceanfront room - it’s well worth it! We always sleep with the balcony door open so...

Right on beach. Room was excellent for a beach hotel. Price was better than most and being dog friendly was a bonus. I stay at LaQuinta almost exclusively and find them to be clean, efficient and good value.
