We stayed here (2 adults, 2 tweens) from April 4-8, 2014. We had a 7th floor ocean view room in the Tower with 2 queen beds (although they seemed smaller than that?). The ocean view from our balcony was awesome!! The room had basic amenities, including a mini fridge and microwave, a desk and a TV, albeit a small one. We didn't experience any insects and our air conditioning worked fine. I noticed some other reviews complained about those things. I was able to find the laundry area and several floors had soda and snack machines. Security seemed good, the sliding doors required a room key to even enter the building. Breakfast was good and had a lot of offerings; cereal, coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, banana bread, pancakes, juice, milk. The elevators worked fine.
Even though it was Spring Break we didn't experience crowding at the beach. We were pleasantly surprised that there were NO all night parties down by Cocoa Beach Pier, even though the weather was fabulous. There were young spring breakers around, but they didn't disrupt our stay. Pool was very warm and felt nice after a long day of touring the area. Towels provided poolside was a nice bonus.
Housekeeping staff was kind enough to bring us more towels at 7:00 PM when we forgot to take the "do not disturb" tag off of our door, so no housekeeping visited that day. The next day left a tip for housekeeping due to the extra mess of towels.
Our only issues with the hotel were minor: the air conditioning unit was unusually loud when we were trying to sleep...there was a very large desk chair right smack in the middle of the room so we had to walk around it to get across the room. Finally we just stuffed it in the corner but then it took up that space. The closet door didn't really stay on the tracks or open/close well. We just kept it open and left it alone. The water.....oh my......smells and tastes so bad. But I'm guessing that's the joy of staying near the Atlantic Ocean. The breakfast tasted good but the design of it left long lines and not enough seating. It seems to be mostly due to the pancake machines at the end. If they could be moved somewhere else it might help the crowding problem. Some people sat down, ate and left in the time it took us just to get through the line. We went 2 mornings but the next 2 skipped it and went to Dunkin' Donuts.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.....would stay here again.
