I came here twice with my nana in 2012. They are reasonable in price and were very friendly. We spent many hours looking at the sunrise and sunset together. You have the freedom to cook indoors or grill outdoors. Everyone who stayed treated everyone like family.
They have great access to the beach and it's absolutely breathtaking.
My son learned to Surf with a trainer from Ron John Surf Shop. Not to far from there.
Thinking about another visit soon.

The South Beach Inn is low-key and family friendly. Straight up, if you like fancy hotels you won't be happy here. This is a no frills place. There is no housekeeping, but they are extremely friendly and will provide you with fresh towels and whatever else you need as you need it. We stayed 8 nights here, and it wasn't enough. If you want a place that feels like home, this is it. My two kids were able to play outside each night, they have large bbq grills that you can grill on, a nice covered area for eating outside, a great deck, and friendly staff. The rooms have plenty of dishes and cookware, the bed and linens were comfy, the a/c worked great. I got up every morning around 6 am and walked the beach for an hour or so and picked up shells and got to see the fresh turtle tracks. I got to see two different types of crabs, we saw jelly fish, and found tons of neat shells and barnacles washed up. This was only our second trip to Florida and I wish that we had stayed here last year as well. This was a true beach experience, not like the crowded touristy places with no shells or wildlife we saw last year. With the South Beach Inn being right on the beach, we were able to really enjoy the ocean and beach. We took our dog and he was welcomed and enjoyed himself very much as well. I have only two complaints, that the hot water runs out super fast, and that even though I do not mind partiers and I don't expect to have perfect peace and quiet at a hotel, they had rented to some very young people celebrating a birthday and the last two nights there they were very drunk and loud, and I didn't feel comfortable with my kids being outside. Other than that it was an amazing place and we will not stay anywhere but the South Beach Inn when we come to Cocoa Beach. For the price, it can't be beat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the ocean.

This place is right on the beach and the staff is very friendly. If you are looking for an updated, service-first place, this one isn't for you. If you are looking for a true slice of Florida and spending time on the beach is what you want, you will love this place. Rooms were clean and had every amenity we needed. On the south end of the island, so a drive to get anywhere, but also very quiet. We enjoyed it.

We stumbled over this nice little motel during our stay last August (2012), and we were so fond of it that we had to come here again - it is located directly on the beautiful, nearly uninhabitated piece of Cocoa beach, with a great view on the Atlantic from the window (and the sound of the waves in the room). A truly family-like staff, very well looked-after premises and rooms, with much space (fridge and oven, a sofa, cable TV, fast WiFi) - a true jewel!

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor have a really nice view on the ocean, the ones on the basement have a b...

We stayed here last summer after our visit to Disney. Great old Florida feel. Flly furnished so we didn't have to spend a lot of money eating out. Nice, uncrowded beach. Very friendly staff. Great place to kick back and relax with the kids without the hustle and bustle of the bigger beach areas. Thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: If all the rooms are like ours, they will be great!

We had a joint family vacation here after a week at Disney and I wish we would've just come here! It's the last hotel on beach. I loved the rooms very cottage and practical. Nothing fancy. People had pets. Every room had a table and chairs outside their room, everyone was friendly. Shelter with picnic tables and grill. Aidriondrack (sp) chairs overlooking beach which was steps away. Outdoor shower after swimming. Deck overlooking beach. Washer and dryers. We spent most time on beach and went shopping. Kitchens supplied with basics. Futons for couches, worked great for us. We had two rooms next to each other on ground floor. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: we were on ground floor and loved it. there's no elevator so if you have bad knees or back ask f...

My review is EXACTLY what bearsma has already stated. We stayed a total of four days. Every morning we woke before sunrise, made coffee and sat in the Adirondack Chairs to watch the beautiful sunrise. I will also add that Jazzys Mainely Lobster is a MUST for the best seafood in Cocoa Beach. We WILL return.

Room Tip: Room 8 on the first floor for a one bedroom. Room 9 for two bedroom.
