Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral
Ranked #3 of 31 Hotels in Cocoa Beach
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 24 July 2012

This was our third visit to Cocoa Beach, and second at the Hampton. It is the typical Hampton (clean, great breakfast, welcoming staff). It isn't right on the beach, but very few hotels seem to be there. It does offer ocean view in the upper floors, and only one building is in the way of the beach. Very short, well maintained walk. There may be better places to stay in Cocoa Beach, but this was plenty good enough for us to want to return to. And the beach is wonderful!

Room Tip: All rooms appear to have a balcony. Upper floors have an ocean view.

Stayed here for one night before leaving on a cruise with my daughters and mother. The hotel was decorated nicely, had a pool, but the main attraction is the Atlantic Ocean & Cocoa Beach. We also purchased vouchers for transportation to the pier the next day right at the check in desk. The staff we were in contact with were all very friendly. We had an early arriving flight so they even held our luggage while our room was being cleaned. Walking distance to restaurants and Ron Jon. Warm cookies at the front desk & free breakfast for under $100 dollars! Can't beat it!

Dear LisaBags:

It sounds like you had a nice vacation with family. Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice review of our hotel and staff. We are just a few minutes from the cruise terminals and you can always make arrangements for transportation at the front desk. We also have cruise packages available from the airport to the hotel and to Port Canaveral and then back to the airport. I am happy that our staff was friendly and was able to get you an early room.

We hope you will come back and stay again.

When we visit Cocoa Beach we always stay at this hotel. It is clean and they are very friendly. They also have a good size pool with plenty of chairs so it is never too crowded. This is a great location just up the street from Ron Jon's Surf Shop. The rooms have either a king or two queens, which is rare for hotels in the area. The complimentary breakfast in the morning has cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, and a make your own waffle station. Stay away from the powdered scrambled eggs...yuck! Plenty of coffee, tea and juice too.

Room Tip: None of the rooms face the ocean. So you are either looking at the parking lot or the pool. I would...

Have always had good experience here. This was my third time staying and still great! This is a solid choice for a stay here in Cocoa Beach. Room (610) was clean with great view. Breakfast was huge and good. Staff is very friendly too. Place in lobby to print your boarding passes. I love the little natural walkway to the beach. I would stay here a fourth time for sure! Make sure you visit a nice beach called Hightower Beach in nearby Satellite Beach if you have a car!

Family of 4 flying in from Ohio before sailing on the Carnival Dream the next day. The hotel offered a deal that included transportation from the Orlando Airport to the hotel and then the next day they took us to the ship. When we came back from the cruise the shuttle service picked us up at the dock and since we had a late flight they offered to take us back to the hotel for a few hours so we could go to the beach and/or use the pool instead of just sitting at the airport. Everything went very smooth with the shuttle as they were right on time at every location and the hotel staff was very helpful.

The hotel also shares the property with the Marriott so we were allowed to use that pool as well which was very nice for getting out of the sun and having a drink by the pool. The Hampton had a nice path to the beach which was just a 5 minute walk. The hotel itself could use a little updating but it was clean and I would highly recommend it for anyone going on a cruise.

Dear H2odude:

What a great review! The Fly, Snooze & Cruise Package is really popular for us. We are very close to Port Canaveral and the transportation from the air port to the hotel, then to the Port and then back to hotel and then back to airport takes a lot of the stress out of traveling. I am happy you came back and relaxed by the pool at the Marriott before your flight back to Ohio. The beach path is a short walk. We appreciate all your great observations. Hope you come back again.

I stay here every summer. I love the Hampton inn. Location and value are excellent. This time I thought I ordered ocean view. When we got here we got room 310. It is at the far end and no ocean. The room had a bad smell and soaked carpet next to AC. Front desk switched us and compensated us appropriately and we are satisfied.
Note that ocean views are floors 5-8. So pay the extra $10 and get what you want. Advertising that all rooms are ocean views is not correct. Also note that some rooms are over the pool so if you don't want the noise make sure to make a request well in advance and call again before arrival.
Courtyard Marriott pool is still better and available for your use. Shhh don't tell anyone about this please :)

Dear Yodyrap:

Thank you for your nice review of our property. It is great to hear that you are a frequent guest at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach. I am happy we were able to move you to your choice room type. As you mentioned, only our higher floors are sold as oceanview. The rooms over the pool are great for families with children that are old enough to go to the pool alone and the parents can watch them from the balcony.

No reason to Shhhh. We tell everyone they are welcome to swim at either pool. The Courtyard has more shade, a hot tub and a Tiki bar for those interested. All of our guests are welcome at either property.

Thanks for your frequent stays.

Stayed here with my spouse for a one night pre cruise in early June. While the layout of the hotel is more motel than hotel, the room itself was fine. A little dated, but we had 8th floor with views of the ocean from our entrance door and our balcony.
Breakfast is good, but get there early before all the families emerge from their rooms!
The pool area was nice with its own bathroom, towels and toys for the kids. The beach is a short walk down a sandy path that is nicely landscaped by the property that is beachfront in front of the hotel.
Jessica at the front desk was great! She explained how Travelynx service would work on cruise day. Travelynx was the best. Transported without any problems all three legs of the journey. We had great entertaining drivers from Orlando airport, and to Port Canaveral. From the port after our Dream cruise, there was a small wait to return to MCO, but we were there in plenty of time for our 2 pm flight.
