“First Year Alligator Point Oyster Harvest”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

Continuing their 3-generation history of creative, tasty contributions to gulf-side Florida culinary art, the Lovel family began seeding oysters at nearby Alligator Point in 2012. Their first harvest has yielded the tastiest oysters this side of the Swan Oyster Depot in San Francisco. Petite, fresh, light, saltier than Apalachicola oysters in general, these delicate morsels are best appreciated with only a splash of lemon. Save the sauces for other dishes.

“Absolutely Fantastic! A Hidden Gem!”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

This is as close to "fine dining" as you will find in this neck of the woods. The tomato pie was to die for. We had the fresh grouper stuffed with crab - it was big enough to share. After a lot of fried fish and pizza this was just the ticket back to civilization. If you don't go anywhere else while visiting this area, be sure to stop in and experience great food, service and a just plain comfortable place to eat.

“Wish I'd found this restaurant sooner!”
Reviewed 4 June 2013

If anywhere on Coastal Hwy. 98 south of Tallahassee, please take the short detour and dine at this restaurant. We wish we would have done it sooner in our trip. After reading reviews on this site, I ordered the Shrimp and Tomato pie as an appetizer and found it to be one of the best tasting, unique shrimp dishes I have ever had! It is served hot and the shrimp and tomato are combined with heavenly melted cheese! It was excellent! I had the grilled shrimp special as an entree and that was excellent as well. I don't remember what the other parties in our group had, but I do remember them telling me how good their meals were. I'm sorry, just thinking about the Shrimp and Tomato pie clouds my memory. The service was great, however, they are closed Monday's; so if staying nearby during a holiday weekend, plan accordingly and go early in your stay because you'll want to go back!

“It's All Good, But Tomato Pie is the BEST!”
Reviewed 13 May 2013

you won't just happen onto this place....very tucked away and you have to know where you're going to find it....but, it's worth the drive....plug the destination into your GPS and enjoy the drive down toward part of Florida's forgotten coast.....the seafood is fresh.....the grouper and shrimp were excellent, but that tomato pie was TOPS....we also enjoyed the unique way the green salad was served - sort of a family style do-it-yourself iceberg wedge.....and of course the sweet tea is just what you'd expect from a restaurant in the south.....go find this little place and enjoy.
