Venturing about 5 miles North of St. Marks to Crawfordville, we came upon Savannah’s Country Buffet for our breakfast before our fishing expedition onto the “flats” off the St. Marks Lighthouse.
Service was quick, coffee was good and hot, food was very good. We were in and out in about 45 minutes and off for our fishing trip, full of protein and carbs. Before we left, we decided that we would return the next morning before heading home. We were not disappointed; another very good meal served up quickly.

On a recent road trip from south Florida to the panhandle, we stopped for lunch at Savannah's Country Buffet.

The building is quaint and colorful with a packed full parking lot of cars, trucks, motorbikes, and trailers including some tables with outside service.

A server said we could seat ourselves and then we headed for the buffet. The food was abundant, steaming hot and filling the air with wonderful aromas.

The first section was a full salad bar with fresh greens and vegetables and numerous dressings. Next in the line were huge pieces of fried chicken, mullet and catfish. A long list of sides included green beans in bacon, cheese grits, limas, corn on the cob, baked beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, pillowy soft yeast rolls and hush puppies.

My life-long discipline of eating nothing fried was abandoned at the sight of this delicious food.
The chicken was the best I had ever eaten and the green beans required a second helping, as did the addictive freshly baked rolls.

I skipped dessert, but my husband's banana pudding was the perfect finish.

This eatery has some of the best southern food we have experienced and would consider making the 2 hour drive back to Crawfordville just because the food is soooooo delicious!

The seafood buffet here is awesome. Yu can eat all you can eat jumbo crab legs. They give you a bucket for remains. And the restaurant keeps them hot and plentiful. Plus shrimp, scallops, fish, and other seafood.

This place is really closer to Wakulla than Crawfordville, but at any rate, not to be missed! They serve dinner Wednesday thru Sunday and put out a nice spread. We enjoyed the buffet for $9 per person featuring fried chicken, pork chops in gravy, stuffed peppers, along with lots of southern fixins, Mac& cheese, green beans, cornbread, rice, mashed taters, butter beans & corn on the cob and many others. Desserts were all homemade, a butter pecan cake, peach cobbler & banana pudding. Many diners were ordering all you can eat shrimp for $19.99 and it looked good. Good cookin’ at great prices.
