“Yulee sugar mill ruins”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

This is just what it is called. Very simple, self-guided place to visit. They have a picnic area, but no meal facilities for purchasing.

“Interesting Relic”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

While just a road side attraction, the relics here are most interesting and informational. I can't imaging the amount of work the slaves had to do to operate this mill in heat of late summer and fall. The site brochure gives added information but still makes me wonder what happened to the people involved.

“Historically Sweet”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

It is an interesting place to stop to see. There's not much to it and will only take about 10 minutes to read the markers. Worth a stop if you are into historical locales.

“A small piece of history”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

It is a small moment of history from a time gone by. If you are driving by stop and learn about the history of this beautiful place. Shame it could not be maintained in a way to show the significance of the sugar mill and the plantation it used to be a part of. There were some really useful leaflets on Mr Yulee and the sugar mill in a box by the mill.

“A piece of history ... but not all there.”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Enroute down Yulee Dr. into historical Old Homosassa this is place to stop & visit. But go across the road visit the printing museum. Go out back of there to the garden - more history. Discover what a Cuban sandwich is like. A great lunch stop. You will step back in time! Ask for a personal tour.
