“Excellent Stay”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

The stay began with the airport shuttle service which arrived promply. As we got on the bus, the driver offered us a cold drink. There were soft drinks, juices, beer, wine, and little travel liquors. He also offered snack bags of chips. Check in was quick and efficient. We also confirmed our cruise shuttle in minutes and found our rooms within 10 minutes of walking in the door. A little later we ventured out looking for dinner and the same shuttle driver offered us a ride to the restaurants and made a few recommendations. We stopped at the first restaurant, had a wonderful dinner and as we left, expecting to walk back to the hotel, there was the shuttle. We jumped on and got back to the hotel in minutes. Best airport hotel we've ever experienced!

This hotel was recommended to us by a travel agent friend of family. It was perfect for our needs. Hotel was clean, rooms spacious and comfortable, complementary breakfast was fine, and staff was friendly and helpful. Best of all we left our car there for the one week we were on the cruise and felt secure and safe doing so. Shuttle service to and from port was terrific. And all this for a very reasonable $159. We would recommend this hotel if driving to and cruising from Ft Lauderdale.

This hotel has great potential!!! The place is modern with very spacious rooms! This is very a quiet, clean, and comfortable hotel with all the ameneties one would want. The complementary breakfast is very good, so no complaint here. Were it fell short for me is the bed. I had one of the worst nights of my life as far as sleep goes. I don't know why pillow top matresses are such a big deal. The minute went to bed, I sank into the bed were my entire body was not level and everything ached in the morning. I could not get comfortable to save my life, thus no sleep at all.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side (away from the freeway) are better if you can deal with pillow top matresses.

We stayed here twice this past week, first for 4 nights and then went to Key West for 2 nights and then came back for 1 final night. We booked this hotel because we had 3 of us travelling and I know from past experience that the Hyatt Place hotels have large rooms with a pull out couch and then half divider to separate the room which is nice. Checking in was very easy, room was ready immediately and very large with a small kitchen area. The gym has free weights which is awesome as many hotels don't, and the treadmills and other machines are all very modern. The pool is also nice, warm and nice to sit by (the wifi just doesn't work by it unfortunately).

Our first room was 605 and I found the Internet slow, maybe 1Mbps and didn't work on the one side of the bed. On our second stay we were in 621 and it was super fast there, so seems like it was just a location issue. The breakfast is great, large selection of cooked and cold food and is included which is great.

The Gallery food is actually really good as well. You just call down place an order then they call you when you can come pick it up. It's not expensive and didn't taste like it was frozen or anything, so really enjoyed that when we used it.

The front desk staff is fantastic and accommodating, as originally we booked 4 nights here, but then asked to change it to 3 once we arrived to go to Key West early which they had no problem doing. We then found out there was no availability in Key West on the one night so we asked they change it back to our original reservation and to book the Tuesday night which was no issue at all. Kisha and Kim at the front desk were great and super helpful, huge asset!

Location is great too as you're a 5 minute drive if that to Dania Beach, maybe 10-15 mins to Fort Lauderdale Beach, and 35-40 mins to South Beach with the airport being a few minutes away. We will definitely be looking at staying here again on future trips to the area.

We stayed for a single night before leaving for our cruise. Close proximity to the cruise port and airport! The hotel was clean, modern and well priced!! Small eating area with complimentary breakfast wasn't anything to rave about but it did the job. Our room was quite large, modern and clean. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have experienced!!! We really enjoyed our stay, and if ever needed another place to stay near cruise port or airport, this would be our choice!

Yikes, this room is dirty! The hotel looks fine from the exterior but once you enter in to the room, it is a different story. Non-smoking room smells of smoke and general odor. Soiled sofa, note pad with previous occupant notes still remaining and a pill wrapper on the floor. Those were just the initial impression. Very limited toilietries provide (only soap, shampoo and conditioner) with other items available for sale. For the positive, the breakfast buffet is nice (complimentary) with lots of healthy options. Located just off 95 makes it convenient. However, I would definately not choose to stay here again.

Had an early flight from FLL so needed a nice hotel near the airport and since we like Hyatt Place we chose to stay there. It was convenient to the airport even going the “back way” down US 1 was quicker early in the morning than on the interstate. Would we stay at this particular Hyatt Place again? The answer is “maybe.” We did get a good AAA rate and that made up for the little details that left us slightly disappointed. Check in was easy and friendly. Nice place. Good location off the interstate. In an attractive cul de sac with some other nice hotels. Cookies offered at check-in. The room was warm and humid upon check in and not fully stocked – we had to go get towels, wash clothes, etc. Sofa cushions in disarray and bed wrinkled as if someone had jumped on it. Housekeeping must have been distracted and never came back to finish up. Hairs on bathroom floor and in corners of bathroom as if they never remember to clean the corners. I would not complain about one or two wayward hairs, but there were numerous. Enough hairs to elicit this comment. Nice glass walk in shower, but the water pressure was non-existent. My wife had to wash her hair in the sink. The water pressure was so poor that it was difficult to get off all the beach sunscreen. The bath room is so small that when the door swings in, it actually hits the toilet. You have to force the door beyond the toilet to get the door to open all the way. We had an interstate side room, which was somewhat noisy. One must run the AC constantly to drown out the traffic noise. If you do stay here, get a room on the other side of the hotel, opposite of the interstate. We do like the Hyatt Place 24/7 menu and bar, but the menu in our room actually had food stains on it. They likely never think of cleaning or replacing the menus. Our AC did work well once going and it finally cooled the room very well. They do offer an airport shuttle as well as a shuttle to some other local area spots. We like the Hyatt Place breakfast. It is always presented well using real silverware and glass which we appreciate. Plus the quality of breakfast foods is higher than other similar hotels. We did forget one amenity and saw their sign that the front desk offered a selection of toiletries if you had forgotten anything. Just our luck they were out of that one item. It is a nice pleasant place at a convenient location at a good price. We do like Hyatt Place but in this area we might consider other hotel options in the future.

Room Tip: Opposite from the Interstate side
