While this is an older HGI property, still the rooms and public areas are well maintained, and we found our three night's stay here to be comfortable and fine for my wife and myself. Arriving about 1 PM, we had to wait for half an hour for our room (note that regular checkin time is 3 PM) and we were assigned a room on the second floor, as our smoking preference was noted (we're both cigarette smokers), and our request for extra coffee and sugar in the room was always there each day. Room was kept clean and neat by housekeeping, and the HGI bed was excellent for a good night's sleep. No adjustment of the bed's firmness needed, and my wife commented on how comfortable it was.

Breakfast in the hotel dining area was complimentary for us (Hilton Honors Gold & Diamond members get the comped breakfast), while other guests pay, I think, $12.95 per person. Standard buffet breakfast, with choices of egg dishes. pancakes, waffles, and all the breakfast meats and breads. Tip: If you like "eggs over", order them over well, as our orders of eggs over medium brought eggs that were too runny, and not cooked to the "medium" style we like.
Otherwise the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and efficient.
Evening dinner in the restaurant had a limited menu, but sufficient if you didn't have a car or didn't want to search for a restaurant nearby.

We found all the staff to be professional, courteous, and helpful throughout our stay, with a smile and hello each time.

Several fast food outlets close by, and a small shopping mall across the street, but nothing immediately near if you want larger malls or restaurants, so you'll need a car, although the airport shuttle driver said they would take you to nearby restaurants after 4 PM for no charge (tip expected of course), and pick you up from them after your meal.

Didn't see lots of "cruise people" during our three night stay during the week, but on Friday when we were checking out, the lobby was filled with lots of people arriving for their overnight stay before their Saturday cruises, so note that the lobby and checkin can be very busy during those times. We also saw some airline's flight deck crew staying at the hotel, probably because of its proximity to the airport.

The cookies in the lobby after 5 PM are delicious, and we wish they were left out earlier for a snack.

All in all, a good stay, with a comfortable, clean room and a friendly, helpful staff, at a reasonable rate for this time of year in Florida. Not near all the "action" of Fort Lauderdale, so you'll need a car for exploring, but still good for cruise people or if you have business in the area.

Room Tip: High speed internet is free for Hilton Gold and Diamond members, as is the breakfast buffet. Shuttle...

Relatively close to the airport and the port from which to start a cruise. Very clean and friendly stuff. Breakfast is continental and I'd suggest fast food around, which would be much cheaper. Missing: no food for lunch in a small local restaurant. Not cheap.
The area is hard to navigate without a car; we got a package that included a car - recommended!
There is the shuttle from/to the hotel, but it is NOT wheelchair accessible, so be prepared to spend $21 each way for a taxi.

Room Tip: Used a wheelchair accessible room with a roll-in shower; water is flowing all over the bathroom and...

Skeptical at first to stay here - due to previous reviews, however, for the convenience and the price - it was a very nice hotel and all of the personnel were friendly & helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the courtyard.

We stayed here for one night before leaving on a cruise. Very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a small restaurant in the hotel which has good food.

The shuttle picked us up from the airport and the driver was lovely. The demographic was clearly geared towards the older cruising crowd and the pace of the hotel reflected that, for example, the shuttle not only picked up people from the airport, but also within the shopping complex the hotel was located in. We were here for one evening, the rooms are quite crowded with two double beds, however the free wifi throughout the hotel was appreciated. Free fresh cookies were baked and in the lobby after a certain hour and were quite yummy. The shopping centre is quite large with several dining options including Red Lobster, Olive Grove, other franchises as well as Thai, Chinese, Mexican options etc. The shops were open quite late, however the lighting throughout the complex is poor and footpaths are non existent, therefore making it difficult to navigate between shops and restaurants, but also to get back to the hotel. I would not stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel the week after Christmas for one night prior to flying home. While the hotel was in good condition and in a very good location, our overall experience was severely dampened by our check-in & unexpected room change experience. I had specifically booked a suite with double beds because I was traveling with my two daughters and my 72-year-old mother. I indicated in the reservation that there would be four occupents. I double-checked before we left home a week before to ensure that the reservation was correct and at that time it was. When I checked in, at around 4:45 in the afternoon, the front desk rep informed me that they had "overbooked" their two-bed suites and we had been changed to a King Suite instead but that they would be able to put in a roll-away. While I wasn't pleased, I agreed to try the roll-away option. When they brought the roll-away to the room, it wouldn't fit anywhere. We spent 45 minutes trying to arrange the rooms to accomodate the pull-out sofa along with the roll-away. After two hotel maintenance men tried to get the arrangement to work, I finally checked Hilton.com to see if there were any plain double bed rooms available and sure enough, there were but we weren't presented with that option at check-in. I called the front desk and requested the change, which was made within 15 minutes. While the front desk employees were very polite, discounted our rate slightly and we had a nice double room for the evening, it took almost 90 minutes to get things settled. With two hungry & tired children along with a disgruntled senior citizen, it was a disappointment to have to deal with such a hassle, especially when I made the reservation several months in advance, checked in relatively early and have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for many years. Even though the hotel was nice and the location was convenient, I don't believe I would return.
