Just back from a 10 night stay at Bahama Bay, which we booked through Owners Direct. Having previously stayed here in 2010 I was really hoping the previous standards had been maintained. I have to say that they have been exceeded!
This is a lovely resort with a great ambience and it looks like it has been really cared for and upgraded. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo which was absolutely great for our needs - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The condo was full equipped with everything you need - including brand new 42" TV.
Staff deserve a mention and here I would suggest that customer service has improved. When we checked in in 2010 it took over an hour of waiting, this time 5 minutes and we were done. Yes, there was a cleaning fee to pay but this is not unusual and it really should not be a surprise. Needed help from maintenance when the battery in our safe packed up and got great service from a chap called Bernard, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Grounds are really well looked after and the nature reserve areas are great. We spotted cranes, herons, ibis, turtles, lizards, etc. They make a really peaceful walk with some well sited seating on the way round. Also rescued a tortoise just outside the resort! The pool area we used was great - clean and with lots of sun loungers for all to use. The 2 Jacuzzis in this area were brilliant and a great way to relax after a day in the theme parks. There are a few other pool areas but we stuck to the one near the Clubhouse, which was close to our condo.
The location of Bahama Bay is perfect in my view. Just off the end of the 192 with easy access to lots of great restaurants - Logan's Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Applebees, etc. But just a bit tucked away to give you a feeling of piece and quiet. Disney no more than 15 minutes away and a very easy drive.
We have visited this area 6 times and this is by far the best place we have stayed. I would say do not hesitate to book a trip here, you will not be disappointed!
