The tram tour is great, the shows are amazing, particularly since most animals are brought to Flamingo Gardens injured and are nurtured back to health for release or, if too injured, live a happy life in the preserve.

A great three hour experience. (I live two minutes from it!) and have never tired of visiting it!

Lots of brochures for this place at our hotel, with the hours included, but no-one there when we drove there. No signs explaining why, but we wouldnt have stayed anyway, as it smelled pretty rank even in the parking lot on a coolish day. We are used to livestock and farm animals, but they need to look to their manure removal. Not hard to find but they could either stick to their posted hours or put a sign out explaining why not. Recommend you call ahead before you waste your time driving out there.

I think this guest was reviewing a attraction that was clearly not Flamingo Gardens. We are open all our posted hours. Also, we do not have farm animals and manure. This guest even has the name of our business wrong on the review. I do not accept the review as true.

I have been attending Saturday Bonsai classes for over nine years and thoroughly enjoy the hobby as well as the gardens and wildlife. My husband and I are garden members, so we visit frequently. It's a great place for a leisurely stroll in the shade, which is rare in South Florida. I understand that they have wonderful watercolor classes too and will enroll when I have the time.

Flamingo Gardens is one of the oldest botanical gardens in South Florida with lots of tropical plants. It also is the home to the largest collection of Florida native wildlife in the state. Children and adults will find much to like here. Try to eat before you come here as the food is marginal. The tram is a lot of fun.

Flamingo Gardens is a great destination for:
- Getting up close to exotic birds (really, really up close, as in the flamingo that was checking out its reflection in the lens of my camera).
- An alternative to the beach, or place to go if its not good beach-weather
- A nice place to take a walk in nature and learn something about native Florida plants
- If you are a nature photographer you will love all the photo opportunities

Flamingo Gardens is a non-profit and as such is a welcome change from the hype of a lot of tourist attractions. The staff are really low-key and friendly.

The little tram tour was interesting and relaxing, worth the extra $2. Alternatively, you can hike the same route if you're up to it.

The aviary was amazing in that you can get right up close to numerous tropical birds in a natural setting.
