The gardens are situated about 30 minutes drive from Fort Lauderdale beaches.
The place is well maintained ,with indigenous plants and many species of birds.
We took the train tour (4 extra dollars) and liked our guide telling stories about the places.
It is a lovely way to spend a few hours having fun and also learning new facts about natural Florida: it feels like being in another world - very far from the hustle and bustle of Fort Lauderdale and the beaches.
If you plan to visit during Summer, be sure to check Fort Lauderdale tourism association (sunny.org) for the 2x1 tourist card, with lot of discounts at several attractions in the area, including these beautiful Gardens.
Recommended, especially for families with young children
