Great details on the history of the area. They have an antique toy collection, and some world war 1 and 2 paraphanalia.

“More than a museum”
Reviewed 2 November 2012

The museum has many, many facets. Their archives of the Daytona Beach area are unparalleled. They carry books and information on all Daytona area historical subjects. There are lots of exhibits with displays and information. Perhaps my favorite is the World War II section.

“Daytona History”
Reviewed 15 August 2012

I spent several hours in this museum and learned so much about the area. I learned about NASCAR as well as where the term of the "Real McCoy" came from, as well as so much else. The volunteer staff is so helpful. I will go back for another tour.

“A step back into history”
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Daytona Beach has a rich and interesting history that would be forgotten if it were not for this gem of a museum. Set in a huge old bank building which has been preserved, the museum has collected artifacts from many periods of history in Daytona Beach. What you will learn here will surprise you. As a kid, I remember all the visits to the beach with my parents in the 60's, but I had no idea that Daytona was the home of the Women's Army Corps in WWII and more. There are great photographs of troops of women marching on the beaches and many artifacts from the war to remind us of how the U.S. had turned itselt into a fortress during the war. This is just a small part of what you wil experience here. The staff appears to be mostly experienced and enthusiastic volunteers from the local community. There is a small gift shop with some very interesting items for purchase. Come here when you are not in a hurry and want to spend some time doing a little time traveling back into history.
