“Good, worth a visit on a rainy day”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

This museum is located in the former premises of a bank which opened a few years before WW1.
The visit starts with a 25 minutes video (SD format, shown on an old big CRT screen). Interesting video, focused on North-Eastern Florida history throughout ages. Beware that kids may find it tedious.
The exhibits encompass some artifacts from Timucuan Indians and Spanish first settlers.
For the rest, it is mainly memorabilia, or a toy collection (with limited interest) upstairs.

Overall, not worth a detour, but good for a 1 hr visit if in the area

“WONDERFUL experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2013

The model of the old Daytona Boardwalk and the Golden Age Ormond hotel are both completely worth missing an hour or two of beach time. Pick up a gift from here in lieu of the average beach souvenir.

“Fun side trip to understand the area”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2012

Take 45-60 minutes and learn about the area.
Lots of interesting artifacts about early life in Daytona and the area.
Great for scouts and small groups too. If arranged ahead fo time the staff will really take care of you.

Great details on the history of the area. They have an antique toy collection, and some world war 1 and 2 paraphanalia.

“More than a museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2012

The museum has many, many facets. Their archives of the Daytona Beach area are unparalleled. They carry books and information on all Daytona area historical subjects. There are lots of exhibits with displays and information. Perhaps my favorite is the World War II section.
