“Great Stay”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

I've been staying at this hotel for years, and the current staff and condition are the best. Great rooms, price, hospitality, value. Private balconies and peaceful. I will definitely keep coming back. Big fan

The Lexington Inn and Suites was a typical well-priced beach front hotel. There were complications when we first arrived. Because we booked on Travelocity rather than the hotel website, there was no record of our reservation. The manager was very nice about it, and she booked us a room anyways, even giving us the Travelocity price! The room was a little dated, but nothing that really bothered us. We got a room with an ocean view balcony, which was a little dirty, but that was expected, as it was outdoors. And it was a very nice place to hang towels after a dip in the ocean. The view was beautiful! Speaking of the ocean, we only had to walk downstairs and out of the pool area to get to the beach! There was a facet before you walk into the pool area to enter the hotel, great for washing of sandy feet! The beach in front of the hotel was pretty clean and well kept. All of the beach, extending for quite a ways was hard-packed, making it perfect for a sunrise run. The pool area was nice, and there was also a kiddie pool, great for little ones. There was an ice cream vending machine in the hotel, which we took advantage of! The breakfast was okay, your typical continental breakfast, nothing special. Also, the parking spaced were quite tight, but manageable. Overall it was a good place for an overnight stay at the beach.

Once again, Bill and his staff did not disappoint. They have really been doing a lot to keep this place up (painting doors because of salt damage, etc.), and the hospitality was beyond believe. Great room, great price and an awesome free breakfast. Best part of all! Very pet friendly. Love it there and will be back, for sure!

Room Tip: I stay in an oceanfront room, but all rooms have a private balcony and great view of the ocean. I...

Booked this hotel on Expedia based on price and reviews....yes it is on the beach, but it is located in the older and dare I say more run down part of the Daytona Beach strip. (Daytona as a whole is feeling the effects of a down economy, with many vacant hotels and run down properties) The Lexington was fine, in terms of cleanliness and amenities. I would think it has a good repeat customer business, for those who don;t want the size of a large property...it is quaint and appears to cater to the "regular" crowd...it is not upscale, so don't expect it to be. Wi fi did not work in room, but did in breakfast area. Small little pool but cozy and full beach access. Unfortunately the pics online make it look a bit better than it is....the building is older and showing signs of needing improvements., We basically needed an overnighter before catching our flight, and it was fine for this.

Room Tip: There are small rooms, and large rooms....depending on your needs make sure you see your room first...

Had a 2 room suite, which I was grateful for the room. But the stairs of this facility allow anyone to walk right up to your door, no security at all. Very scary. Mold in bathroom tub, very, very noisy from A1A. Breakfast was good, service was good. I wouldn't stay here again because the parking lot is a nightmare and I hated the stairs being wide open to anyone walking Daytona streets!! Parking lot was so bad we would sit on balcony waiting for someone to back into each other!! Stains on pillows, very gross.

After reading some reviews we were not sure about keeping our reservation but are so glad we did. Super clean room, comfy bed, very nice front desk staff and our maid was so good to us, she cleaned when we wanted and left us alone when we didn't want anything. Cont breakfast was pretty good, nothing special but free and allowed us to get on the beach sooner! Plenty of parking and beach in front was clean. All around good place, we for sure will stay here again!

Room Tip: we were on fifth floor, ocean front, a bit of a hike but so worth it!

The only nice thing about this hotel is that it's on the beach.

We stayed here Labor Day weekend 2013. It was a sold out hotel. Our rooms was top floor.

Our room was dirty - bathroom had hair on floor, hair and urine on the back of toilet and there was used soap and open shampoo bottles in the shower. We grabbed the hotel phone to call housekeeping and the hotel phone was dead. So we had to walk back down to the lobby (yes walk because one of the elevators was broken and we got tired of waiting for the other one to show up.

I was pouring rain outside and the walkways on the side of the hotel were very wet and slippery. You got wet just walking to an from your room. Because of the rain, we opted to look up something else to do on the internet, using our laptops in the room. Only then did we find out that the internet router wasn't working either. The only internet available were the hardwired computers in the lobby.

Breakfast had extremely long lines. If you were lucky to get food, before they ran out, you had to stand up to eat it. There wasn't enough seating. Of course their could have been if people would eat and leave but many were sitting chatting and didn't care that people were standing waiting to use their tables. We stood up to eat long enough to take the first bite and spit it back out. It was terrible! Dry, hard, and zero taste.

So the 2 nights/3 days we were at this hotel, our hotel room phone never worked. Internet never worked and we had to climb stairs all weekend as only one elevator worked. Parking is very tight and full. We had to park across the very busy street - next door to the STRIP CLUB.

Awful awful awful. Had it not been labor day weekend, with every hotel in town booked - we would have left after the first night. We will NEVER go back.
